Meanwhile the USA is moving toward one party dictatorship.
Yoda: "Do, or do not. There is no try."
First lift the veil of censorship.
lift the ban for establishing of new political parties
The third reform is judicial independence.
The fourth reform is the election of all elected officials.
The fifth is the political neutrality of the military.
These five propositions are the basis of democracy.
Polite & brutal.
Very significant letter, coming from head of the military.
As a Confucian society, they aren't likely to ever become a true constitutional republic. But if they can manage to continue their transformation into a giant Singapore or South Korea with a minimum of social unrest, the world will start to look to China for leadership...as they continue to slowly abandon the feckless and corrupt USA.
China bump for later...
Meanwhile, the Chicaps, the young and educated, are transforming China in spite of the old Chicoms
They’re his proposals not mine - was just attempting to convey points
Sorry, I didn’t read the whole article before seeing your post.
I’d say we’ve been in a one party dictatorship for quite some time now, only this system has not called its self a party. Even with the Republicans being a majority in both houses, if they do not do any push back, it’s the same as if they are not there at all. The left has been in full control ever since obama came to office.
To further my point, we have a president that cannot prove citizenship that issues executive orders no one is capable of stopping. To add insult to injury, we have a former secretary of state that should be in prison running for president.
We have the Uniparty. Made up by the commycrats and the worthless, two-bit, slimy, backstabbing, money loving, gutless, boot licking, Constitution ignoring RINO’s.
The Chinese fellow is correct, there needs to be a two party system. America is used to it, and with Trump we will get it back.
Yeah I’ve done that too - that’s the trouble with excerpts and a site that will now allow selecting text. I downloaded and edited to post those few items.
One day American Christians will move to China to escape persecution.
TERM LIMITS IS A MUST.
The single most corrupting influence in our entire political system is the re-election of career politicians and their need for campaign cash. Eliminate career politicians and most of the corruption is washed away. if China wants to clean up the corruption, they have a chance to get it right from the outset.
You are responding to excerpts from the Chinese proposal - I said nothing sorry for not making that clear.
I know—I wasn’t arguing with you. I was just making the point that corruption of the Chinese system would not be cured if they just used ours as a model.
Our system needs an overhaul too. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Patrick Leahy, Susan Collins-—ughh. Let smart people serve for a term or two. Convention of States, Article V.
OK. Notice he said nothing about a Constitution ... Our model broke 50 years ago, and is now in a post-death metamorphosis into, as another post proposed, are a regulatory dictatorship - a brand new political animal - much like ‘The Castle’ by Kafka (read it to see our future).
I agree we are headed to a bad place. But I still think we can save ourselves: Trump plus an Article V. Convention of States. He mentions a “constitution” in the text of the letter. He says they may have a constitution but not a constitutional government. They have a chance to get it right. So do we.
