Excellent chance for the media to educate America on the concept of taqiya.

I am having trouble seeing how anyone could be blinded by ideology enough to murder workplace friends. Surely this man would have made fond acquaintances. Yet, he chose to murder people he knew. He and his wife could have attacked any California soft target. Yet he chose the premeditated murder of people he knew, after pretending to be their friends. This man was described by his father as devout. Is this a case of workplace taqiya?

It’s a case of Islam. Nothing more, nothing less. A Christian Christmas party was targeted not randomly, not suddenly, but premeditatedly by Islamists doing as they are instructed, as they are taught by Islam.

I heard it explained by a reporter back around when the U.S. Embassy was taken hostage in Iran. It basically means they can lie like dogs if they want to conceal their plans for Islam.

I think the word means closer to concealing the truth. It is not just Sunnis either. They all do it.

There are a number of instances in the Holy Qur’an where taqiyah is endorsed. The first is the story of Ammar ibn Yasir who under severe torture gave in and denounced Islam verbally with words. However, his heart never swayed from the true faith. He went to the Prophet distraught, thinking he had lost his religion. The Prophet (pbuh) asked: ‘was your heart sure of Islam?’ Ammar replied: ‘yes, I only denounced it verbally because of their torture’. The Prophet (pbuh) said: ‘then it is okay, and if they come and do the same to you again, you say the same thing again’. The following ayah of the Holy Qur’an is regarding this incident.

I was under the impression (by the progressive socialists, athiest, agnostics et all) that we all worshipped the same God, but by a different name.

There are two forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman. These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.
