Republican strategist Karl Rove may be moving to help bankroll Ben Carson in the presidential race.
Reports say Rove helped to set up a meeting between Carson's campaign and billionaire Steve Wynn, but additional details were not immediately clear. Wynn, who owns casinos and hotels across the country, has contributed a combined $30,000 to political action committees associated with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in this election cycle.
Ben Carson presently ranks fourth in the Washington Examiner's power rankings.
Wynn is munificent when it comes to campaign contributions, and he rarely discriminates between parties. Federal Election Commission filings indicate Wynn has made multiple contributions to both of his state's U.S. senators, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., as well as a range of officials across the country.
In spite of his registration as a Democrat, Wynn is a familiar face to Republican leaders, who selected him to serve as the honorary co-chairmen of the Republican National Committee's finance effort in 2008. However, that was not enough to win his vote: Wynn said he voted for President Obama that year.

If he didn’t notice, Carson is collapsing and is no longer in contention. Rove’s behavior can only help Trump.
You are known by the friends you keep....(and who’s money you accept)
I guess Rove has thrown in the towel on Jeb and is looking for a candidate of lesser evil (his opinion).
Rove has not backed a winner recently. It honestly surprises me that so many still allow him to control their donations.
More proof that Karl Rove is simply Dick Morris without any evidence that he sucks toes during his off hours!
It’s clear that Carson’s fundraising model of paying 80 cents to keep 20 cents of every dollar raised isn’t enough to keep him going.
Carson needs Karl Rove’s friends to stay in the race.
Carson is as much an outsider as Trump,
without the managerial experience and
history of negotiation. Why does Rove
want to elevate one anti-GOPe over
another?
Rove will eventually bankroll Hillary.
“Rove has not backed a winner recently. It honestly surprises me that so many still allow him to control their donations.”
He’s a “client” of “The GWBush Employment Agency.” “W” must be working the phones!
Karl rove.
It’s so idiotic. Ben Carson is not only cub qualified to be president, he also has no chance. The same can be said about bush, whom rove appears to be giving up on
Karl is as clueless as Jeb is. This can only hurt Carson if Rove backs him. It has been almost a decade since Rove picked a winner.
I’m not surprised.
I think Rove would back anyone over Trump. Trump is about as anti-establishment as you can get and he is no friend of the GOPe.
Carson would be controllable. Trump (and Cruz to a lesser extent cause he needs the money) is not controllable by anyone.
Tokyo Rove steps out from behind the curtain.
Because they think they can control him and he has started to show his real stripes that are not totally conservative.
...Rove may be moving to help bankroll Ben Carson... Rove helped to set up a meeting between Carson's campaign and billionaire Steve Wynn... who owns casinos and hotels across the country, has contributed a combined $30,000 to political action committees associated with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie... Wynn has made multiple contributions to both of his state's U.S. senators, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev... his registration as a Democrat, Wynn... honorary co-chairmen of the Republican National Committee's finance effort in 2008... he voted for President Obama that year.
Pilot fish Rove needs to attach himself to another well-heeled candidate to keep the cash registers ka-chinging. To do that he needs to con some billionaires into believing that this candidate, Carson, is the new, improved Jeb! worthy of them pouring millions into Rove’s operation.
