GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is demanding an apology from The New York Times, after denying that he mocked the physical disability of one of its reporters.
"Donald J. Trump today demanded an apology from the failing New York Times which accused him (during a major speech before 10,000 people in Myrtle Beach, SC) of mocking a reporter's physical disability when in fact, Mr. Trump does not know anything about the reporter or anything about what the reporter looks like," the Trump campaign said in a statement on Thursday.
Trump had cited a 2001 article by Times reporter Serge Kovaleski - then with The Washington Post - that appeared to corroborate his story of seeing Muslim Americans in New Jersey celebrating the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Kovaleski, who suffers from a chronic condition that limits the movement of his arms, went on CNN to renounce his report, after which Trump impersonated him on stage at a South Carolina rally.

Trump won’t get the apology, but at least Trump demanded it & a few of the media are reporting it. NY Times are really trying to butcher Trump...disgraceful...but it will favor Trump.

I think this one is going to stick around and hurt Trump. The video disturbed me and based on the handicap and Trump’s mannerism’s in the video, I find it hard to believe he (Trump) didn’t know the reporter’s situation.
I watched the clip of Trump talking about the reporter and there was zero indication he knew who he was personally. Trump used his body language as he always does and of course the media have taken out of context shots and quotes to try to make it like he was specifically mocking the guys disability. I’m glad Trump isn’t cowering like GOP normally do. He fights back against these Alinsky tactics. The reporters real disability in my book is working for the NY Times.

I support Trump 100%. Mygosh, look what he's already accomplished with waking US citizenry up. But, he does have to be careful not to criticize folks for things they can't help.
Trump's used to being in the public eye, for sure, but not at the frantic pace he's been doing these rallies. To keep up that pace, it's best to tone it down.
I don't think it's going to hurt his candidacy. Not with all the others chiming in about how much they want to defend our "friend" Turkey. Besides that, Trump can refocus on why did this journalist change his story, so how can we believe him now?
This is what george w. bush should have done with the news media. Instead he adopted a policy of never answering and rebutting any of the lies and phony stories put out about him by the liberal media. He allowed their lies to spread and fester. People like me that were on his side were left to hang in the wind as we tried to rebut whatever nonsense the left said about him. But found it very hard due to lack of needed info thanks to their closed mouth policy.
And I don't think Trump knew he was part of the Gimp Squad of The Church of the Perpetually Offended.
It's also said that this Gimp boy & his paper make a habit of playing the Gimp Card as cover whenever he writes another offensive hitpiece.

Even if Trump was mocking the disability (and I am not stipulating that), the fact that the reporter lied by omitting his own previous reporting in his attempt to smear Trump cannot be forgotten or forgiven.
If we cannot offend someone no matter what they do, we can only capitulate.
Is that the way we can re-win our country?
