Ted Cruz In Iowa: Obama Can’t Have Either Our God Or Our Guns
PJ Media ^ | 11-22-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 11/22/2015 11:27:00 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

Speaking at the Family Leader's Presidential Family Forum in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz had some harsh words for President Obama. The Republican presidential candidate believes that the president is tearing at the fabric of society by undermining the freedom of religion.

And he's not willing to let that happen.

"It is the first right protected in the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. It is the foundation of everything else in America. If you can’t worship God, all other liberties are taken away." Although many people seem to believe that the freedom of speech is the most important natural right, that has not been the case historically. The liberty movement began centuries ago with the realization that people were born with the natural right to worship God as they pleased. Since religion and the government (or actually: the king) were intertwined back then, this was a truly revolutionary concept. Once that right was recognized, other liberties - such as the freedom of speech - followed suit.

But it all started with the freedom of religion.

Cruz is better versed in the history of liberty than any of the other candidates, and proved that in Des Moines. He continued:

"When Barack Obama in San Francisco talks about the American people back in 2008 (as) bitter and angry and clinging to our God and our guns — well, we’re not bitter, we are getting pretty angry. And, you know what, he can’t have either our God or our guns.”

If you did some actual reading, you’d see that Rubio’s attacks on Cruz have failed because he was called out by EVERYBODY with conservative cred, Mark Levin among them.

So he now has a new plan: to go after Trump. Relentlessly.

If you’re talking about being attacked, Trump is on their hitlist.

That’s what I’m predicting, before our first radical Islamic POTUS is forced from office, he’s going to go after the guns. His Islamo-Nazi bros can’t do much damage if people are shooting back.

The only pistol I am GLAD I LOST in a “boating accident” was a Sterling .22 I bought back in Colorado back in 1975.

Worst pistol I ever owned! When I tried to retrieve the other guns with a heavy magnet, the Sterling was the only one that kept coming up.

I’m convinced that’s one of the items on Obama’s list. First global warming (ahem, warming), and then guns.

You are wrong there. Cruz can fight but he chooses to do so civilly and therefore more effectively than Trump. If your idea of an ideal candidate is someone who shoots off his mouth with vile personal attacks as Trump has done with Ben Carson and practically every other Republican candidate then Cruz is not your man.

I think the RATS are salivating to have Trump as the Republican candidate because Hillary will beat him like a drum in the general election. On the other hand the MSM are doing every thing they can to hinder Cruz because they know he will be an effective candidate who can beat their gal.

I hope that Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have sufficient security people.

When leftists try to disrupt either one's speeches and threaten his safety (leftists are not interested in debating!), these leftists need to be taken down fast and hard, even if there is a significant risk of permanent injury, disfigurement, or death to these leftists. In addition to criminal charges against such leftists and any of their organizers, the leftists should also be sued in civil court for everything of value they own because of their actions.

Blah blah, but who is ahead? How effective is it being behind, huh? And who doesn’t have Super PACS to do the dirty work so he can act above it all?

You sure sound bitter, almost like a Jebbie supporter.

No, Trump is not vile or crass or anything else you libs come up with. He calls it like it is. He never said anything about Carson that Carson didn’t say about himself. You just get mad that Trump put it front and center.

And the RATs are terrified of Trump. He knows where the bodies are buried and will dig them up as needed.

But the GOPe is salivating at Cruz taking frontrunner. They will knock him down faster than you can say Bush.

If idiots outnumber men then we are lost anyway. By the way “blah, blah, blah...” is not a refutation since the third grade.

I take better care of mine. They are right here. Come and take them, Obama.

When you think its time to hide your guns (even in jest), that’s when its time to strap them on!

The liberty movement began centuries ago with the realization that people were born with the natural right to worship God as they pleased.

It's important to make the distinction that this is a civil right, and in a sense is a natural right, since we don't have the right to force people's consciences.

OTOH, since God exists, He would logically have a preferred mode of worship.

So... Who cares? It's an important distinction because claiming that we have an absolute God-given right to worship any way we please results in religious indifferentism and ultimately religious apathy, which has plagued Western civilization for over 200 years.

Those of us that believe know that our faith is in the one living and true God. Obama mocks that one living and true God as well as those of us who profess our belief in Jesus Christ.

”. . . and therefore more effectively than Trump."

Given Cruzs standing in the polls, I respectfully disagree that Cruzs civility has been more effective than Trumps ranting. The corrupt Washington cartel has been oppressing the people and Trump has been admirably reflecting the outrage of patriots in his speeches.

America has reached a critical point where civil discourse no longer wins elections. This is the Idiocracy. Trump has the perfect mixture of genuinely good ideas and over-the-top rhetoric that is necessary in this day.

Cruz is the perfect candidate, but for another time. The good news is that Trump can usher in an age where Cruz is viable.
