On Saturday, the city of Brussels, which is both the capital city of Belgium and the capital of the European Union, was essentially shut down completely, after Belgium’s Prime Minister Charles Michel warned that the threat of one or more terror attacks in the city was “serious and imminent.†The terror alert system was raised to its highest level over reports of an “imminent threat†of a gun and bomb attack similar to the one seen in Paris. The metro system was shut down, and all restaurants and cafés were closed by 6 pm. Citizens were warned to avoid large gatherings such as concerts, train stations and shopping malls.
Belgium-based jihadists are increasingly at the heart of the investigation of last week’s Paris attacks, since it has been learned that three of the attackers have roots in Brussels’ Molenbeek district which, as we described earlier this week, has a large ethnic Moroccan population and is a hotbed for radical Islamists.
Brussels police have intensified raids in Molenbeek and other immigrant districts, hoping to prevent a repeat of the Paris attacks. Belgium’s interior minister is calling for house-to-house checks for all homes in Molenbeek.

Great idea! When Ireland regulated guns, effectively banning them in 1971, that put an end to the IRA!

The “gros bonnets” are blowing at the wind. They’d better watch it because they are on unstable ground at the moment, anyway. The Brits and the French, among others, are getting tired of hits on their sovereignty. I think the Brits are lost anyway, but the same doesn’t go for the French. The latter can still defend themselves.
They might want to consider a little Muzzie control.
Every time a progressive opens their mouths I hear “that’s exactly what ISIS wants” in response to anything we do. What are we to do?
The French, as well as the rest of the Europeans, should have hid their guns where ever they could. Now, they are just sheep waiting to be slaughtered by the wolves who have the guns.

Hiding guns does nothing to stop the bad guys. The only deterrence for random terrorism is training, practice and widespread concealed carry.
I was making reference to the fact that the European citizens went along with allowing their guns to be confiscated rather than hiding them.
A citizen shooting dead a jihadist before he can fire a second round from his AK would necessarily be a far worse crime than the killing by that jihadist of a hundred concert goers. That is how liberals and socialistsfeel.

Yep. A Terrorist Free Zone sign will definitely work. Look how well the Gun Free zone signs worked in all the places we had crazy active shooters in America.
Now the worst thing they could is to allow its subjects to own guns and carry them because then they would be citizens and you know; can’t have that. Next thing you know they get all these crazy ideas about freedom and protecting themselves from all the various bad guys including a totalitarian gubmint.
If they ban guns for the law-abiding, they DESERVE whatever happens to them.
