Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton remain the top choices for president among Oklahoma voters, according to an exclusive News 9/News On 6 poll.

If Oklahoma's March 1 primary elections were held today, 27.1 percent of state Republicans say they would vote for Trump. Clinton controls nearly half of the Democrat primary vote, 46.6 percent, according to the poll.

Trump, who has remained the national GOP front-runner, leads Ted Cruz (18.3 percent), Ben Carson (17.5 percent) and Marco Rubio (16.3 percent) in the state. The rest of the Republican field -- Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina, Jeb Bush, Rand Paul and John Kasich -- are all in the single digits. Nearly seven percent are undecided and 2.5 percent prefer someone else.

News 9/ News on 6 - Presidential Tracking 2016 Poll

"We had [Trump] leading back in September and he's still leading to this day," says Bill Shapard, founder of SoonerPoll.com. "I think it shows the Republican electorate is looking for someone who has not been a politician before. They're looking for an outsider. They're looking for ideas."

“Shapard says the most telling number is the 39 percent who say they’re undecided.
When you find that this many Democrats in Oklahoma are still undecided, it basically says these folks REALLY DON’T LIKE HILLARY CLINTON, they don’t really want to vote for her and are more likely to vote for the Republican in the general election.”

Fox is soon going to truly be in a ‘what to do?’ Situation

How they could have ever thought carson’s moment could ever be more that a week is as unwise as anything coming out of the White House or state these past couple of days.

Trump Cruz. One or the other or both. And they’ll figure out how she cheats, too

SoonerPoll conducted the survey by phone November 12-15, 2015 of likely voters, registered to vote in Oklahoma. Our poll surveyed 389 Republicans and 369 Democrats. The margin of error is +/- 5.1 percent. The results were weighted by age, sex and political party and stratified to Oklahoma likely voter demographics.

Looks like another land-line only poll. +/- 5.1% margin of error, as well.

Those Reuters polls...they are so out of whack with most other polls and the RCP average that I find it hard to take them seriously. Good news is, a lot of these polls start to converge towards the average as we get closer to actual voting, just so the pollsters don't look stupid when the actual votes are counted.

Reuters rolling polls have no available internals. What they do offer is a way to “filter responses”. Filtering response to registered republicans likely to vote gives a much different picture...

You look at the green for Cruz and if you are a true conservative and listen to the words that are being spoken, it is hard not to be backing Cruz as your number 1 pick.

Precisely. There are a lot of Reagan Democrats in Oklahoma and states like it, people who aren’t insane America-haters. Those votes are going to Trump, I guarantee it.
