Gun sales are at record levels. In the last six months, gun sales, as reflected by the National Instant Check system, have hit record highs for each of the six months. It is almost certain that 2015 will be the highest year on record for private gun sales in the United States. But when national polls ask how many households own guns, the numbers appear to be the same or dropping. How do we reconcile this seeming contradiction? The answer is likely in a Zogby Analytic question asked in February of 2015. From prnewswire.com:
QUESTION: "If a national pollster asked you if you owned a firearm, would you determine to tell him or her the truth or would you feel it was none of their business?"
Gallup recently released a poll showing that gun ownership had declined from polls they had taken in an earlier time period. That number is inconsistent with the number of firearms that have been sold since President Obama took residency, but the difference can be answered by the Zogby Analytic question above. The poll indicates maintaining anonymity is a contributing factor
- 36% of Americans feel it is none of the pollster's business and that includes 35% of current gun owners 47% of Republicans and 42% of Independents
If we take the lower number, 35%, and apply it to the lowest numbers for gun ownership from a national poll, found in the General Social Survey (GSS), we see that it implies that gun ownership is up, not down.

Obola is shy about what a good firearms salesman he is.

Well, in my case it is because I lost all of my guns in a tragic boating accident, then went out and replaced them all, only to lose them again in another boating accident. Must have happened to me four or five times now in the past few years.
I really need to be more careful out on the water.
If a pollster called me or anyone in my family we would say none of your business or lie.
Some people do not deserve the truth.
Quite a few years ago a doctor asked my wife if we had guns in the house, she lied and said no. It was none of the doctors business, he doesn’t deserve the truth and is unworthy of that information.
Sure, pal. Sure.
Unfortunately I lost all mine in a freak canoe tipping accident.....bummer.
Really, who cares. Citizens just keep on buying, and especially after all the boating accidents.
Why not just post that chart from where ever you found it?
Was asked about wearing a seatbelt -
I asked what that had to do with my flu shot...
Then I said - don’t ask me any more questions like that.
No commission in it for him.
But honestly, with the current stirrings that there may come down an executive order to confiscate all guns, who is going to admit to possession?
Molon Labe.
Out of my cold dead hands. But not before all the ammunition is spent.
Do not try for an upper body shot, as almost certainly they will be wearing Kevlar body armor, but a head shot or a lower body shot will likely cause them to fall down. And man down can’t rush you.
Small boat sales have skyrocketed.
The manufacture, sales and caching of guns and ammo have been his best job creation programs by far.
At least for us infidels.
These medical doofuses have an exaggerated opinion of their own importance. In effect, they’re the same as a plumber. Someone with specialized knowledge to whom you subcontract a specific task due to lack of time or expertise on your part, but still to be performed at your request and in such a way as to meet your explicit goals for that task. There is no such thing as “doctor’s orders” any more than there are “plumber’s orders”.
Come on. If you want the confiscators to believe your story you have to tell them you sold all your guns through that notorious "gun show loophole."
Isn’t that odd, same thing happened to me.
Some people do not deserve the truth.
Any pollster that calls my house will get my own version of Taqiyya. I figure the guys are probably gathering intel for their Taqiyyan lyin' bosses in DC.
There isn’t going to be any executive order for gun confiscation. Conservatives would do much better to lay off of the “Unintended Consequences” fantasies and get more involved in their schools, communities and politics.
Don’t you understand that flu shots prevent auto fatalities?
