Paul moving to halt refugee visas
The Hill ^ | November 16, 2015 | Ben Kamisar

Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), a GOP presidential candidate, is proposing a bill to impose an "immediate moratorium on visas for refugees" in light of Friday night's terror attacks in Paris, which the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria has claimed responsibility for.

"The best way to defend the country from attackers that don't really have an army, but come here as individuals, is to prevent their access into this country," Paul told reporters on Monday.

"It is about time, and I think Paris should wake us up to the fact that we can't just let anyone come to this country," he added.

The bill would also halt all visas, including those for students and tourists, from about 30 countries that have "significant jihadist movements," according to Paul. The restriction would be lifted once Congress certifies that a country has complete control over who is crossing its borders. The proposal would also institute a 30-day waiting period for visas from countries that are currently part of America's Visa Waiver Program, which includes France.

The GOP presidential candidates have largely called for America to reexamine its refugee policies, especially for those coming from Syria, in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 129 people and injured more than 300. The Obama administration is planning on admitting more than 10,000 Syrian refugees in response to the crisis prompted by the civil war there.

Multiple news reports have linked at least one of the Paris attackers to the Syrian refugee crisis.

Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), another GOP presidential candidate, bashed the idea of letting in Syrian Muslim refugees as "nothing less than lunacy" Saturday on Fox News, but countered that Christian refugees fleeing persecution should be granted safe harbor.

Paul said he's open to private charities helping to resettle Christian refugees, but that those efforts have to be in the context of America's national security.

"In order to be safe, in order to be secure, we cant just say, 'Hey we've got an open door and we’re going to take people form the Middle East,'" he said, adding that Iran and Saudi Arabia need to step up to help resettle refugees.

President Obama, in order to defend the country, will whole heartily support this bill.

Catholic Bishops’ report months ago: we lobby for ‘unaccompanied minors’

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 4, 2014

Kevin Appleby, USCCB lobbyist and author of the 2013 report predicting the invasion from Central America. Did the Bishops mission” help make it happen?
Last night when I wrote about Laura Ingraham’s tweet, here, about the fact that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration and Refugee Services program is 98% funded by you (the taxpayer), I should have linked this post that I wrote back in February.

See the whole thing but note what the Bishops said in their November 2013 Report on their “mission” to Central America:

At the national level, the USCCB department of Migration and Refugee Services lobbies to improve options and services for undocumented minors, and oversees a country-wide network of mostly Church-affiliated agencies that administer foster care programs.

Catholic Bishops milk taxpayers while pushing amnesty! Are the big guns in conservative talk-radio starting to get it?

Tonight fellow blogger Richard Falknor alerted me to this tweet at Laura Ingraham’s twitter feed:

Laura Ingraham @IngrahamAngle · 2h
Context for Catholic Bishops’ Amnesty Support: “Fed grants make up 93% of USCCB’s migration/refugee budget http://shar.es/MFEZp “

The link sends followers to a story about how much the US Catholic Bishops receive from the US taxpayer citing their 2011 annual report.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration and Refugee Services has published its 2011 annual report.

According to the report, over 92.5% of Migration and Refugee Services’ $72.1 million budget came from federal grants and contracts, while under $25,000 came from private donations.

McConnell will claim that it is futile because the president won’t sign it anyway. And Ryan will follow along as well

I don't like that either. Those charities help the Syrians for a while and then they disappear.

Senator Cruz says "Christian refugees should be given safe haven"? That's insane. They pretended to be migrants went they overwhelmed Europe. What's to stop them from pretending to be Christians?

Besides that, doesn't it get tricky if the gov excludes people based solely on their religion?

Senator Cruz erred. Advantage Rand Paul on this one.

You should ask Ryan to Defund the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration...part of the Dept. of State....I did. This is where the funding comes from...going to CHRISTIAN groups that are facilitating this. (Bringing in Christian refugees might make a little sense...they are the ones being beheaded by ISIS. ...but Muslims...are they out if their minds?)

The only thing that will stop Zer0’s total destruction of the USA is an election. By then it will be too late.
