GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has signed former Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) supporter and Tea Party activist Katrina Pierson as his new national spokeswoman, the campaign announced Monday afternoon.
"Katrina is a great addition to our team as we continue to expand throughout the country," Trump said in a statement about the Dallas/Fort Worth-area Tea Party activist.
"Katrina understands the need for real change in Washington, D.C. and the importance of competence in the next election." Pierson had been a vocal supporter of Cruz's 2012 Senate bid, and he and his father returned the favor during her long-shot House bid in 2014 to unseat Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas).
Cruz stopped short of delivering a full endorsement in Pierson's bid to take down his Texas colleague, but heaped praise on her at a local event. His father Rafael Cruz, though, explicitly endorsed her. She also received the backing of 2008 Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, but Pierson eventually lost to Sessions by a margin of 28 points in the Republican primary.

I’m going to guess that she is the best for this position.
I wouldn’t trust her to take out my garbage.
why did she leave Ted Cruz ?
More divide and conquer by the MSM.
My guess is $$$
I’ve heard nothing but good things about her here in Texas. Good for Trump.
This could be part on the Trump Cruz alliance.
Somewhere down the road we will read “Trump taps Ted Cruz for VP” =)
“I wouldnât trust her to take out my garbage.”
That was a nasty comment from a Christian. What prompts you to say something like that?
Cruz calls her “utterly fearless”......
Ted Cruz adds Katrina Pierson to his expanding list of the “utterly fearless”
Pretty rude statement. Do you personally know Ms Pierson?
“Pierson had been a vocal supporter of Cruz’s 2012 Senate bid, and he and his father returned the favor during her long-shot House bid in 2014 to unseat Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas).
Cruz stopped short of delivering a full endorsement in Pierson’s bid to take down his Texas colleague, but heaped praise on her at a local event.”
I see a little something between the lines here...
Personal dealings .. via email.
and .. that wasn’t nasty.
“Somewhere down the road we will read âTrump taps Ted Cruz for VPâ =)”
I hope that is true.
Why are you asking ..??
I think she was a supporter of Cruz for Senate. I didn’t see anywhere in the article that indicated she had supported his campaign for president.
Exactly. I’m not seeing any real connection between her and Ted Cruz. The article is a hit piece, to make it sound like people are defecting from Ted Cruz’s campaign. I’m not seeing that.
She’s got a little bit of baggage.. I would have put her somewhere else in the campaign. Outreach of some sort.
