Seventeen years ago, Ben Carson delivered a commencement address at Andrews University that featured a very unusual theory: Maybe Joseph built the pyramids to store grain.
The speech itself, dug up by the ever-enterprising Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed, was framed around Carson's trademark inspirational stories. "I thought that I would talk about my own personal philosophy for success in life," he told the graduating class. "Think big.?
He used Joseph to illustrate the point. "Here was a man who was basically able to save the entire world with his big thinking," he mused. Joseph, in the biblical narrative, oversees the accumulation of grain reserves in Egypt sufficient to last through seven years of brutal famine. But then Carson seemed to go off-script, extemporizing to make the point that Joseph's faith and big thinking had enabled him to do remarkable things:
My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain. Now all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs' graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don't think it'd just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain.
And when you look at the way that the pyramids are made, with many chambers that are hermetically sealed, they'd have to be that way for a reason. And various scientists have said, "Well, you know there were alien beings that came down and they have special knowledge and that's how they were" -you know, it doesn't require an alien being when God is with you.
It's hard to know what to make of any of this. Who, other than Erich Anton Paul von Daniken, are the "various scientists" who believe that aliens built the pyramids?

Reminds me of the time, during the Carter era, when Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin were normalizing relations between Egypt and Israel. Sadat and Begin were flying over Giza, and Sadat was showing Begin the Pyramids, with obvious pride in that they had withstood the test of time for over 4000 years. And Begin replied, “Yes, we always do good work!” ................
“Notice how this was timed to coincide with Carson’s rise in the polls, and in the consciousness of the American public. It’s all about destroying him, and nothing else.”

—He refuted the Aliens saying that some believe that while HIS belief is that Joseph built pyramids to store grain then stated today that was still his belief. So you’re whistling past the graveyard with that comment. NO where in the Bible does it say Joseph built pyramids and the Bible covered his life story fairly well

Saw a very interesting program several months ago from a investigative journalist who posited that many decades ago a mistake was made in the timelines of the Egyptian archeology. He said and illustrated exactly how this happened and that since this early mistake has been used for so long in the explanation and writing of history that they have essentially molded recent historical books around the mistake. He shows quite clearly that there were some assumptions made in Biblical story and in the historical timeline that if corrected, caused the Biblical and the archeological history to match up exactly.
Unfortunately I don't recall off hand the name of the program but IIRC I saw it on Netflix.

Well you would be correct. After 17 years as a mortgage broker I can tell you that Doctors are the number one group of people who know nothing about anything else except being a doctor and flying a plane. They are clueless. Lawyers are number two.
I would not elect Ben Carson to the Lilburn City Council much less the Whitehouse. He would be a disaster. We have that now.
