Sounds like conservatives in PA were caught with their pants down last night.

Boy, were we ever. Generally in these off-year elections I am the only one there when I go to vote. This year it was a madhouse. Lots of people there whom I recognized as local union shills. They came out to make damned sure Soctt Walker does not happen here. Even if we elect a guy like that our Supreme Court will invent reasons to strike it down. Plus the GOP did not even have candidates running for about 40% of the stuff on the ballot.

Here in Western Pa. Locally there was just a 20% turnout.

Wrong. Actually, the supremacy clause only says that federal laws “pursuant to” the Constitution are supreme. Indeed, this, plus the 10th amendment, implies that any laws NOT made pursuant to the Constitution are null and void, and can be declared as such by the states.

“Let politicians do the choosing, really? REALLY?”

Some people cannot see past the immediate future when they want a law a certain way.

An officer of the Texas Republican Party called one year about a rule the Texas Senate wanted to put in place. I told her that would be fine if Republicans were always the majority but did she want a Democrat majority in the senate to have this power? She said absolutely not and changed her mind about this being a good rule and spoke against it from that time forward.

You see, laws and rules stay in place (most of the time), and both parties have to go by those laws/rules - never make one that would put your party at a disadvantage if the other party became the majority. Always make sure rules/laws are fair to both parties (unfortunately, many do not want to do that).

Agreed - will it ever happen

just think - a senate responsive to their constituents instead of their donors.

It seems that Mr. Barry Goldwater was correct. If New England was sawed off into the Atlantic and the San Andreas fault would slide CA into the Pacific then this country would be pretty good.

PA needs to split up at this point before it declines into some serious financial problems it will not be able to get out of. A handful of counties are running roughshod over the entire state. It needs to end.

Be assured that any good news about conservatives gaining ground will be met with razzberries and derision by FR’s surrender monkey brigade.

Exactly. Is the “Convention of States” concept getting any momentum?

Just curious, since I don’t see a lot of talk about it at this point. But I may be a bit “out of touch” on this issue.

"Just curious, since I don’t see a lot of talk about it at this point. But I may be a bit “out of touch” on this issue."

I have suspected that talk of the CoS was a rumor started by liberals to make patriots think that ”other patriots” were actually working on it.

On the other hand, it probably takes time to get the state Houses on the same sheet of music for a CoS.

Conservative country, liberal culture.
A federal judge can easily nullify the action of a state legislature or referendum.

I am a natural born Texan, too. I read your “about” page - I know Tyler well. Grew up in White Oak, Texas, not that far from Tyler, home of the Tyler Rose Parade/Festival. :o)
