I was taught to have it “broken” as shown, but to have the barrel down and in front. The shorter stock sticking out behind you is less of a hazard. Although it took me awhile to get over my aversion of getting finger prints/oil all over the barrels.
But not that big of a deal.

Which is exactly what the guy on Twitter was talking about - he's criticizing Cruz for not having the barrel down and in front. So, he's not wrong, though he's making a big deal out of something that shouldn't be a big deal...

correct. This is the instruction we drill into our 4Hrs.
This way the line judge can see from behind that the weapon is unloaded.
