Bill Gates made big investments in nuclear power (TerraPower), which are now losers, because fracking makes the competition cheaper (oil and gas). His solution seems to be to lobby for a carbon tax to rig the game.

I guess that he is working it now to try push something during the upcoming Global Warming talks in Paris, and before Obama leaves office. Maybe he will offer big campaign contributions for the 2016 election, if he sees policy he supports.

Because I think something is a great idea, everyone should be forced to support my idea.

If he’s into nuclear power production, good for him. We don’t have to develop losing energy sources like wind, solar, and cold fusion. Nuclear is right there with no impact on CO2.

Bill Gates is a greedy lazy bastard who would rather rip off the gov’t a la solar rather than risk his own money.

I suggest a 99.9% asset tax on software and media billionaires to finance this energy “miracle”. They’ll still be plenty rich, and they’ll help achieve their selfless goal of Saving The Planet. Considering his altruism, let’s start with Bill, and work down.

Maybe there should be a technology tax because without it Microsoft lacks the incentive to do anything except steal other people’s concepts.

Bill, here’s a start; sell your 20,000 square-foot mansion and live like the rest of us. Then we can talk.

For a bright fellow Bill, you’re sadly uninformed about economics and climate change.

A whole lot of dumb investments would make money if the entire population was forced to support them by the government.

Exactly. Let's take the "income equality" people at their word, and bring Gates and Soros and the Hollywood creeps down to our level.

Without a substantial carbon tax the government won’t have as much money to fritter away to no good end.

I’ve got a much better idea: we should tar and feather everyone who promotes carbon taxes.

Hot tar would be okay....

It’s about 1 four-hundredth as prevalent as the number one green house gas.

Water vapor.

Clouds cause more warming (and cooling) than any other gas. It is the most obvious problem with the carbon crowd. Everyone can see the clouds, understand that predicting weather with water involved is still voodoo, and any warming/cooling predictions without using being able to predict water’s influence is silly “science”.
