The Hill explains how the Tea Party has taken over the GOP. Since the GOP took the wheel of the 114thCongress in January, all they seem to have accomplished is driving the institution into the groundâguided by ineffective, chaotic leadership thatâs part and parcel with the Republican Partyâs new extremism.

Fixed it for you "The Hill"
I like it when news organizations provide the good news first.
Tea Party was result of King Amabo election.
The GOP didn't create the Tea Party movement.
Only in the nebulous idea that people were fed up with bad governance can the GOP claim responsibility.
A rallying by people who want a frugal Government, limited to its Constitutionally assigned functions, is a good thing to all of us who take our oaths of Constitutional fidelity seriously. Only those up to no legitimate purpose will agree that that rallying is a threat.
The Tea Party was conceived during Bush’s bailouts and born when Obama took the oath.
*****Congress just passed the Obama budget.******
A budget that saddles the next President’s first year with Obamaism.
The Tea Party runs DC? The final vote WASN’T EVEN CLOSE.
You libs are getting EVERY SINGLE THING YOU WANT.
Yet you come here and WHINE that you’re not getting enough?
Everyone knows how stupid you journalists are.
Everyone except you journalists that is.
BINGO!
The inception of the tea party can be traced back to the famous CNBC Santelli rant in 2009. The GOP didn't have a thing to do about it. It was grassroots. In fact, the GOP has resisted and railed against the tea party at every turn.p>Since 2009, the GOP leadership in both the House and the Senate has been 180 deg. out of phase with tea party voters.
On a related topic, how many articles have been written about the DEMS being "plagued by the OWS monster"?
This is what passes for journalism at The Hill. An article filled with mistakes and outright lies that fit some preconceived narrative about conservatism in the Age of Obama. The GOP “created” the Tea Party simply to attack Obama (probably because he was black). But now its an out of control fundamentalist zealot organization and the GOP is getting blowback as if its the CIA funding Muslim fundamentalists. The lazy, liberal hacks at The Hill actually believe this and gin up stories about that aren’t supported by the facts simply because they think its true.
It was the Tea Party that past the latest US budget. Yes! That’s right!
The DNC is led around by it’s nose by their “Central core base” of whacko leftists, commietards, and radicals.
And yet the DNC is happy to do so.
And the “Establishment” is more than happy to follow THEIR lead, both the Dim Establishment, but especially the Republican Establishment.
Yet a “Tea Party” core which has been proven by polling to be many times larger than the core of the Dims..... Is called a “whacko bird minority” inside the Republican party.
The Republican Base, ie. conservative and small government base is pissed off as hell at the Republican party.
I'm guessing it's that tendency of liberals to try to stick their opponents into a convenient box - gun owners, for example, being identified with the NRA or the "gun lobby" - here a broad and rather intense conservative movement is being packaged as the Tea Party and they're mystified at the failure of that packaging to explain anything. Imagine this: maybe, just maybe, it was completely erroneous to begin with?
I thought that the TEA Party was dead. I’ve been told so repeatedly by Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, and the liberal media.
What is this “tea party” they speak of? We are ordinary patriots. The silent majority.
All that even after Tea Party enthusiasm and participation was what gave Republicans their victories in 2010 and what put Boner in the Speaker's office. The GOPe deserves some serious thrashing and more defeats on election day.
This move to have a non-RNC sanctioned debate will be a great gesture if the candidates actually follow through on it and have their own debate.
Stephanie Schriock is the president of EMILY's List, the nation's largest resource for women in politics, and co-chairs the Democratic Governors Association's Unrig the Map effort, which can be found at www.unrigthemap.com.
No bias there.
Precisely! “We” created the Tea Party, the only true nationwide grassroots movement there is.
