Many people may share Senator Bernie Sanders' complaint that he was tired of hearing about Hillary Clinton's e-mails. But the controversy is about issues far bigger than e-mails.
One issue is the utter disaster created by the Obama administration's foreign policy in Libya, carried out by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
An even bigger issue is whether high officials of government can ignore the law and refuse to produce evidence when it is subpoenaed. If they can, then the whole separation of powers the checks and balances in the Constitution gives way to arbitrary government by corrupt officials who are accountable to no one.
This is not the first time Hillary Clinton has defied the law to cover up what she had done. When Bill Clinton was president, back in the 1990s, both he and Hillary developed the strategy of responding to charges of illegal actions on their part by stalling and stonewalling when either courts or Congress tried to get them to produce documents related to these charges.
Hillary claimed then, as now, that key documents had disappeared. Her more recent claim that many of her e-mails had been deleted was just Hillary 2.0. Only after three years of stalling and stonewalling on her part has the fact finally come out this year that those e-mails could be recovered, and now have been.
By this time, however, Hillary and her supporters used the same tactics that both Clintons used back in the 1990s namely, saying that this was old news, stuff that had already been investigated too long, that it was time to "move on."
That was Hillary 1.0. More recently Hillary 2.0 said, melodramatically, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Hillary for President
Accountable to No One
Where can I get that bumper sticker?
(Sniffle) It was a real tear-jerker when "kindly compassionate" Bernie stoutly defended Hillary's criminality WRT her State Dept emails....as Hillary glowed w/ approval.
THIS WE KNOW FOR SURE (/SNIX) Bernie hates nasty Wall Street hogging all the wealth leaving the working classes w/ nothing but he really, really loves Hillary.
I JUST CAN'T WAIT---Will be such fun to see Bernie defend THIS Hillary.
Then-US Sen Clinton and then-Sen Corzine on the Capitol steps.
EXHIBIT ONE Corzine was fresh out of Goldman Sachs executive suite, buying his NJ Senate seat office for $65 million; then buying the NJ governorship. Out of office, he ran a hedge fund where $1.5 B went missing....that employed both Bill Clinton and then-Secy of State Hillary's top aide Huma Abedin.
EXHIBIT TWO When Chelsea Clinton's husband started a hedge fund, he gained access to investors who had ties to the Clintons and to Goldman Sachs. Back in 2011, Mezvinsky, now 37, and two former Goldman Sachs'ers Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon began raising money for Mezvinsky's Eaglevale Partners LP hedge fund.
Some of Mezvinsky's investors included Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Wall Street Blankfein, a slavish Democrat supporter, said he had "always been a fan of Hillary Clinton." The WSJ reported extensively on the hedge fund's underperformance since its inception and Mezvinsky's mediocre investing and strategizing.
===========================================
EXHIBIT THREE Then-US Sen Jon Corzine (D-NJ), used his office to pass a special tax exemption for a Japanese bank he owned----his Goldman Sachs crony, Christopher Flowers---adminstrator of Sen Corzine's "blind trust"--- used Corzine's assets to takeover the Japanese bank.
LAUGH BREAK Corzine later said he "did not know" the legislation he sponsored "benefited" him.
================================================
There's a saying in Congress---"One hand washes the other. You vote for my bill; I vote for your bill." Did Hillary vote for Corzine's legislation....giving tax breaks for a Japanese bank Corzine's "blind trust" owned? And what other Wall Street deals did Corzine make w/ Hillary to enrich himself...and her?
"Bernie, I insist you go first."
ROTFLMAO.
Yep, like 0bama she’d be as bad or worse on lack of accountability.
Another great column by the great Thomas Sowell
LOL That’s a hoot! The yuk factor is off the scale.
Most welcome, Kas.
I expect many more from Dr. Sowell on Hillary, maybe more than he wrote on 0bama.
It seems that with most politicians there is a certain lack of accountability.
What's different with the Obama and Clinton gangs is that they no longer rely on plausible deniability. They simply respond with contempt at the impudence to anyone even questioning them.
In reality, it is the ruling class vs. the citizens. Sure, they'll throw a bone to their base - an emotional bone that has no impact on the economic health of the nation - such as gay rights or abortion.
But both parties are there to bleed the Treasury and enrich themselves and their donors, in addition to building the strength and size of big government.
All else is pure theater.
You’re right on. They’re blatantly in-your-face about their actions and could care less what people think.
They know their worshipers and the enemedia will support them and I just repeated myself.
In reality, it is the ruling class vs. the citizens.
Well stated and 100% correct.
