Donald Trump on Monday stood by his comments that former President George W. Bush did not keep the country safe since he was president during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Trump insisted he isn't "blaming anybody," but repeatedly reminded Fox News viewers that the "worst attack in the history of our country" occurred on Bush's watch and suggested that the attacks could have been prevented.
"The fact is we had the worst attack in the history of our country during his reign. Jeb (Bush) said we were safe during his reign. That wasn't true," Trump said. "And I'm not blaming anybody and I'm not blaming George Bush, although if you look at his three primary agencies, they hated each other, they weren't talking ... And a good leader would've made sure that they would get along and talk and lots of other things happen."
Trump was referencing how top law enforcement and intelligence agencies including the CIA and the FBI weren't coordinating as closely as they do now in the run-up to the 9/11 attacks.

Jeb’s body language is disturbing. He wags his head back and forth when he talks as though denying everything he is saying.
This Bush seems very plastic. He used the word, “pathetic” to describe Trump. It certainly applies to Jeb!. I get nothing pathetic from Trump - bombastic, argumentative, aggressive, even ignorant at times, never pathetic.

I wonder whether anyone else finds Trump’s repeated use of the word “reign” when referring to a Presidential term just a tiny bit disturbing.

True, but since being nominated be the GOP Bush either received or had he asked could have received security briefings. Certainly as President Elect he was kept informed of security concerns. So the 8 months to get up to speed in reality is more likely a year to get up to speed. Had security been a real concern our borders would have been secured and vistas tightened up.

Also don't forget that in the days after 9-11, when NO planes were allowed to fly, Bush allowed a large number of Saudi "VIPs" to fly back to Saudi Arabia. I've always been suspicious of this, especially since the hijackers were Saudis and there is no way the agencies could've investigated to see if those leaving had any connection.
And Harry Truman was in office less than 4 months when Hiroshima happened.
