Where Donald Trump Is Spending His Campaign Funds (Hint: His Bodyguard Really Likes McDonald’s)

For a guy worth billions of dollars, Donald Trump is actually kind of frugal -- at least when it comes to spending on his presidential campaign.

His quarterly campaign finance report, filed Thursday with the Federal Election Committee, reveals the Republican frontrunner's presidential campaign spent $4.2 million from July through September. While that is three times the amount doled out the quarter before, it is still significantly less than a number of his rivals, including Ben Carson (who spent $14.2 million), Jeb Bush ($11.5 million) and Bernie Sanders ($11.3 million).

Democratic frontrunner, Hillary Clinton, spent over six times more than Trump at $25.8 million. And according to Trump, this is one more piece of proof of just how awesome a president he will be.

"While our original budget was substantially higher than the amount spent, good business practices and even better ideas and policy have made it unnecessary to have spent a larger sum," he said in a statement. "To be number one in every poll, both state and national, and to have spent the least amount of dollars of any serious candidate is a testament of what I can do for America."

It's so true. When I take people to dinner and pick up the tab, there's a lot of filet mignon and $12 martinis getting ordered. When we "go Dutch" - suddenly those same people are having a chicken sandwich and a beer.
