Hold your comments until we read the Marine summary report on this.
Here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/280017557/Marine-Corps-gender-integration-research-executive-summary

Shooting accuracy includes all personal and crew weapons.

The health & welfare statistics MEN VS WOMEN are stunning.

What I am gathering from some of this is a couple of things:

1. The Marines knew a long time ago that women and combat is a bad idea and now have the stats to prove it.

2. These women Marines would have gotten Ranger Patches and have been in the top of their class. :)

As I have stated before, the military is self-correcting.

In a combat situation, those that can be counted on to cover your back are in turn watched over. Those that cannot be counted on are left to fend for themselves.

If “women in all combat branches” is followed through on, the proof will unfortunately be seen in the KIA/MIA/POW statistics, where women will be listed as a much higher percentage their overall numbers than men will be.

Also take into account that chivalry and “man as defender of women” is not held in high esteem anymore and you can begin to see how combat will turn into a meat grinder that women will suffer from more than men.

You don't have to convince me! I served 27 years in the Marines including nearly a year and a half in combat. Combat is rigorous, extremely dangerous, and lonely. The last thing on Earth anybody'd want to do is build in yet more stress for young men involved in day-to-day death and dismemberment.

People want to pretend that women are exactly like men and completely interchangeable. They aren't.

Add young women into the mix of a unit of young men, you add the dynamics of distraction, competition, overarching loyalties, jealousy, and unit turmoil.

Bad enough that this country treats the few young men who volunteer like toilet paper - let's also make combat even tougher by tying anchors around their necks, while you're at it?

Thank you for posting the link ...

Can we, at long last, have an end to that feminist “I can do anything you can do ... better” crap?

Dan Lamothe wrote a piece about military research that’s sexist in it’s nature.

The Washington Post allowed sexist material in their paper...

Therefore every editor who writes for the Washington Post hates women...

I’ve sent an email to the Southern Poverty Law Center... these haters these ‘editors’ might be dangerous... they need to be put on a list of possible domestic terrorist suspects...

***but the issue isn’t about a percentage of women who will never get pregnant***

Just responding to the quote in the post.

So clearly that means that all women will be good Marines and crack shots.

That has always been one of their primary concerns. There are people who think that with enough training and indoctrination, men and women can take showers without looking at each other, a la GI Jane.

Drives me crazy. They throw men and women into the mix together on naval ships, male NCOs and officers interacting with female subordinates, and then they prosecute them for getting into each other’s pants. Their retort that they have to “be professionals” is crazy.

They want to pretend when it suits them, that sex and biology don’t exist.

Then, in the next breath they say men and women can’t help themselves.

Try shooting accurately when you have been rolling around in the mud after a 5k march.

The last part of your comment is on the money. The women chosen for the study was above average according to the commanders and headquarters staff and the men were average.

While the women could keep up with the men at most tasks they were operating at their peak performance levels and fatigued first. Some test could not be completed by the women regardless of their physical fitness level.

In the Boston Marathon last year, the FIRST woman crossed the finish line FIFTEEN minutes after the FIRST man did.

Think about that. Think of the number of men in that 15 minutes who crossed the line before the first woman.

That gives an illustration of the fundamental difference in biology and physiology between men and women. It is easy to lose sight of that, because most people don’t look at it that way, they look at the middle to lower end of the curve where men and women are crossing in great numbers together, and it is easy to lose sight of the staggering difference.

There are many women who feel they aren’t allowed to compete at men’s sports because of sexism, and that is it. In their minds, if women were allowed the same “opportunities” and social support as men, they would perform the same.

But that is the ignorant masses. I would wager if you spoke to the women who have competed directly against men as real, dedicated athletes, they would flat out tell you the unvarnished truth.

A Marine Corps veteran who has advocated for full integration, Katelyn van Dam, also took issue with the study, saying it is time to stop asking if women can “hack it” in combat units and instead focus on developing gender-neutral standards that apply to all.

In other words, we need to lower all the standards so the ladies can join any unit they wish and pretend to be as good as the men and everybody who knows the truth must look the other way and accept it.

The combat capability of units and the resulting death and defeat of them (and perhaps ultimately the USA) doesn't matter. Only Political Correctness and getting the women promoted into positions of power does.

We don't live in a sane country any more. We are living and promoting lies everywhere and our once formidable bulwark of truth and common sense are being driven out everywhere. Political and cultural tyranny (and God's Judgment upon us as a nation) are coming and they are coming quickly.

At Belleau Wood Marines were shooting Germans at 600 yards. The Germans, even though they were equipped with Mauser rifles capable of such distances, were not trained to shoot that far. They returned ineffective fire.

After long distance bulls eye training, I was trained for shorter distances at the Infantry Training Regiment. This was during the Vietnam War. We were taught “quick kill” techniques for the shorter ranges of that war........very effective technique I had to unlearn later in life when I hunted quail/pheasant........
