Common Core backers are sneaking a social and political agenda into nationalized curriculum, say critics, who now have new ammo in a writing lesson plan for teachers that they say gives a slanted perspective of the gun debate.

A study guide dubbed, "The Battle Over Gun Control," authored by KQED, a northern Californian affiliate of National Public Radio, and the nonprofit, taxpayer-subsidized National Writing Project, states that "moderate gun control" measures introduced following the Sandy Hook school massacre were deep-sixed by the "powerful political influence" of the NRA. Second Amendment advocates say the wording, in supplemental material designed to help teachers plan instruction, frames the debate in a one-sided fashion aimed at influencing young minds.

>>I believe we call this “propaganda”

It is what logically follows when the government provides “free public education”.

Lets hope and pray we get someone elected that changes all this bullcrap that is happening here in America. We can not allow the progressive liberals to steal our country from us. I read somewhere that all they need to do is get one generation and it will be done. They are doing everything in their power to get it done.
My suggestion is to get it started with TED CRUZ, he seems to be the only one that takes issues with Washington.

“We can not allow the progressive liberals to steal our country from us.”

I agree, but it’s going on right in our face. Worse, whenever there is a thread on having a constitutional convention or something similar, there are many people who seem all too anxious to give the progressive liberals ‘this state’ or ‘such and such state’, and we’ll keep Texas and others. We shouldn’t give up on ANY state in the union.

I was in an online discussion with a friend’s wife the other evening regarding Obozo’s push for gun laws in the wake of the Oregon shootings. She suggested that we need to throw the libtards a bone, if even to just placate them for a while. Nuts! We must not give up an inch in principle or physical to the Marxist progressive destruction of this country! The name of the game has been *we* give an inch, and they take a mile. *We* reach across the aisle, and they cut our arm off. It must stop now! I agree with you that Cruz may be the person to help bring an end to the destruction of the republic. I also think Trump can do the same. Now, put the two of them together and they’d be unstoppable! We could start to see daylight at the end of this dark dark period the frigging libtards have dragged the country into.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

from the article
“The Common Core State Standards Initiative was devised by an association of the nation’s governors and backed by the Obama administration in 2009 with the goal of setting a uniform standard for grades K-12 nationwide. Some 45 states, in many cases enticed by federal grants, have signed on and are testing students in grades 3-8 and once in high school.”
