This man is in second place nationally, and tied for first if you believe a few recent polls. He's steadily gained momentum and ground on Donald Trump, and now he's going to capitalize on his momentum by...stepping away from the campaign trail for two weeks for a hybrid fundraising push/book tour. ABC News reports:
Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson has put his public campaign events on hold for two more weeks to go on book tour for his new tome “A More Perfect Union” and catch up on fundraising events. The campaign has been careful to separate campaign events and the book tour, and doesn’t want to classify the tour as related to the campaign in any way. This week he is catching up on fundraising events and will be back on his book tour next week making stops in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. So for the next two weeks, Carson won't be appearing at any public "campaign events." Carson will be going back and forth between campaign fundraising events and book tour events over the next two weeks...The campaign says the next time they will appear publicly with Carson will be the day of the next GOP debate on Oct. 28. His last public campaign event was Oct. 2.

Blend the fundraising & promotions into campaigning, yes, but ... dropping campaigning _just_ to sell books & raise money?
That makes no sense.
You don’t think it is strange to stop campaigning in order to sell a book?
The question is, what are his priorities?

I like Ben in general (do not think he is presidential material) .... but really, this makes him look very “not serious” about his campaign, the stated reason of avoiding ‘co-mingling’ notwithstanding.
Some may say it is just common sense, but trust me there has to be some smoke for that big a fire....
Next are the deep tools that show just what the highest count search terms are on the Internet, wanna bet there is no trend to support his sudden rise in the polls...
Still wondering about him being a bit of a setup unless all of us embrace him as our “Black” president...
They may use his fall as organized racism within the party not finding Blacks as president and drive that narrative to attempt a “sympathy” vote to add him as VP...
And a House divided against itself cannot stand... and if he and The Prez do not agree it will delay or diminish the overall impact of his presidency

My guess is that there’s something brewing from his past and/or his affiliations.

He did a book signing in my city, Knoxville TN, this past Sunday night.
I thought at the time it was kind of strange during the campaign season.
Evidently the book store said they had sold around 1000 copies of his book and he probably had a couple of hundred show up at the signing.
Just a thought: it’s only mid-October and campaigning costs money. If he did this next June, different thing.
or, there can be a lull in the normal routine.
Selling books is meeting and greeting and spreading the gospel
he might impress A such that she insists C and D go meet the man and get the book
Face Book can produce a long line of such motivated folks very quickly
If so, it seems like he would have known that he would/should be campaigning.
Did he just decide to run on a whim?
Or he is running in order to increase his book sales.
That is what the media accused Newt of doing last election.
