CNN ^ | October 15, 2015

Donald Trump holds double-digit leads over Ben Carson in both South Carolina and Nevada, the third and fourth states scheduled to hold nominating contests in next year's race for the presidency, with Trump widely seen in each state as the best candidate to handle a range of top issues, according to new CNN/ORC polls.

Trump holds 38% support in Nevada, with Carson in second with 22%, and in South Carolina, Trump doubles Carson's support, 36% to 18%. No other candidate comes close to those top two in either state; the third-place candidate in each case has less than 10% support.

Something odd about Ben Carson..

Did a Google “open” search (name only) and got the following results of total hits...

Carson

138 Million

Trump

195 Million

The key for me is the age and nature of Carson’s “presence” on the web is much older, the 138 Million was with articles back to May 2015 on the first page...

Old News...

So who is putting all the air in the Carson balloon with no record of engagement or really much being done...

Thoughts?

Simplest answer would be the Carson is the one responsible for his popularity.

Put the names in quotes. Otherwise google will give you results for the first and last names on their own, as well as the full names. Trump is a much less common surname name than Carson, which is why it gives fewer results when no quotes are used.

Consider the popularity of the distant trailing GOP candidates with their well-affirmed records.

Should we reason Christie oughtta be ahead of Carson because nobody knows who Carson is compared to Christie?

A: “Well gosh, no. Because Christie’s record sucks!”

Right, see? There you go.

Don’t overthink this.

Every conference I go to and speak at, I find what I call the "very religious" or "overtly religious" like Carson. They see Trump, with his wealth (like Carson is only "merely rich") and his divorces and his language as a sort of Philistine.

So no one is "pumping up" his numbers or support. Yet it is absolutely clear to me that if by some chance he were to win the nomination---despite current polls to the contrary-- he would be quickly destroyed by the media and Dems. They are trying now, but Trump still deflects them.

Most of these voters are a "Trump parking lot"---at least some of them are. As a Christian I hate to categorize these "overtly religious" religious as "holy rollers" or single issue voters but some are, just as some of Cruz's supporters are such conservative purists that Trump is "too Prigressive."

The biggest question of this election is whether these portions of the Carson and Cruz supporters will unite behind Trump.

This is reminding me of 1979. Trump is not Reagan but he shares several traits with Reagan.

Trump, like Reagan, has two very potent tools he brings to the table. He loves the USA and he is very optimistic about our future.

I can honestly say Trump would be the 1st President since Reagan who would put the well being of the USA at the very front of his agenda.

The people who keep vomiting hate at Carson can thank themselves for the attention he is getting. The more people scream bile at Carson, the more people pay attention to him, the more they like what they are hearing.

Here is the bad new for Cruz.

When you look at 2nd choices, Trump get the bulk of the Carson support and vice versa.

I think Trump is in the driver's seat at this point. It is his election to lose. However Trump still has work to do.

To many people he still is not trust worthy or Presidential. Trump is very smart to not go after either Cruz or Carlson. Their supporters are people he will need down the road.

Trump should keep doing what he is doing. Drive the GOPe candidates out of the race, keep showing himself trustworthy and Presidential. That Jeb plant really helped Trump. He publicly and proudly stood up to the "war on Women" attack lie and said "I am pro-life".

The more people get to know Trump the better he does. He started out with a 60% "I will never vote for him" in June 2015. In the latest Fox poll Trump is down to 18% "I will never vote for him"

I have never seen a candidate turn around negative poll numbers as fast as Trump has.

Nevada caucus history dictates the GOP candidate with the strongest immigration stance wins the delegates. Which shouldn’t be a surprise since it’s the state with the highest per capita illegal aliens.

Not too late for those Senators seeking the top job to put some major legislation forward and make amends with the American people, but I doubt it. It’s all about “ME! ME! ME!” with those types.
