No, I was commenting on what you said: could he be trusted with the nuclear reset button? Not the nuclear button. It seemed like a joke or a Yogi-ism.

I thought Al Franken was the final vote for Obamacare.

Anyway, I’m a Vietnam vet. That’s all I ever say about it.

My attempt at some Hillary reset button humor. But let me put this out for those who may have forgotten.

Exchange with President Bush

On November 28, 2006, at a White House reception for those newly elected to Congress, Webb did not choose to wait in the line to have his picture taken with the president,[45] whom Webb often criticized during the campaign. The president approached Webb later and asked him, “How’s your boy?”, referring to Webb’s son, a Marine serving in Iraq. Webb replied “I’d like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President.” Bush responded, “That’s not what I asked you. How’s your boy?”, Webb responded, “That’s between me and my boy, Mr. President.” The Hill cited an anonymous source who claimed that Webb was so angered by the exchange that he confessed he was tempted to “slug” the president.[46] Webb later remarked in an interview, “I’m not particularly interested in having a picture of me and George W. Bush on my wall.”[47]

Scoundrel? What has Jim Webb done to deserve that appellation? Webb stepped down after one term as senator. He served as Reagan's SecNav. Webb resigned in 1988 after refusing to agree to reduce the size of the Navy. Webb had wished to increase the Navy to 600 ships.

As a former naval officer and Vietnam veteran, I have the highest regard for Webb despite some policy differences I may have with him. He is a man of character. The fact that you can call him a scoundrel reflects more on you and the sad state of politics in this country than it does Webb.

What has Jim Webb done to deserve that appellation?

SENATOR Jim Webb voted several times in favor of funding abortion.

I'm sorry.

Scoundrel is too kind a word for him.

Demonic filth is more appropriate.

The fact that you can call him a scoundrel reflects more on you

That's right. I have ZERO TOLERANCE for foul, subhuman cockroaches who support in ANY way shape or form the ongoing bloody slaughter of the unborn.

I have the highest regard for Webb

Let me be quite clear: I hold SENATOR Jim Webb beneath contempt.

Somewhere in between being a heroic Marine and President Reagan's Navy Secretary, Webb fell (or jumped) into the pit. He doesn't get a pass for that, any more than John McCain, or John Glenn, or anyone else who defiles an honorable military career with a subsequent DIShonorable political career.

We will just agree to disagree. Webb is a patriot and an authentic American hero. Semper fi.

Reagan signed an amnesty. I still admire him and think he is the greatest President of my lifetime.

webb went democrat, voted for obamacare and for abortion funding. How much damage must a man do his country before you stop liking him?

Also, the Reagan thing won’t work with me; I am not afraid of Reagan criticisms. For one thing, I cannot afford a machinegun because of a bill he signed.

I certainly disagree with this: "Webb is a patriot and an authentic American hero."

He WAS an authentic American hero.

'Way back when, we (in Ohio) used to joke that John Glenn must have left his brain in orbit. Senator Glenn seemed to bear no meaningful resemblance to Col. Glenn. Same thing with Webb, except that he was never in orbit.

I don't know what happens to some of these folks, but I simply cannot give them a pass. The abyss of evil into which the democrat party has descended is too stark, and too destructive, to be dismissed as mere "policy differences". "Support and defend" still means something.

With that, I'll leave off beating the dead horse.

Well newbie, we will just agree to disagree. Jim Webb put his life on the line for God and country as did his father, brother, and son (in Ramadi). He is a patriot period. What did you do in defense of this country?
