SNIP

“I would have to say the enemy soldier that threw the grenade that wounded me, but he’s not around right now to talk to,” said the Vietnam veteran, who served in the Marines and later was secretary of the U.S. Navy.

In other words, Webb was most proud of killing an enemy combatant.

Jim Webb was the only one standing on that stage last night with anything resembling a grasp of reality.

I don’t know if he was proud of killing the enemy soldier, but he was proud to serve and willing to kill the enemy. I’ll take that.

Jim Webb would have been a successful Democrat Presidential candidate - in 1956.

Now, he’s not socialist, anti-american, secular, ethnic or gay enough.

For liberals, killing bad guys is controversial. And Webb was the only Democratic candidate who refused to pander to the racist BLM terrorists.

That is why he will never win the Democratic presidential nomination.

Sorry but he seems about as stable as nitroglycerine. Do you really want his hand on the nuclear reset button?

Patton’s Opening speech to the troops - George C. Scott
“Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”

Webb is a moderate Democrat in a party that has no use for moderation.

Webb should have challenged Sanders on his “conscientious objector” status for the Vietnam War. You don’t get to pick the war you want to avoid when you are draft age by using conscientious objector status... Bernie is quite the hawk when sending other men’s son’s to war, quite the “conscientious objector” when it was his turn.

Some of his fiction he wrote is somewhat gay/pedophiliac. I knew him at the Academy. His dad resigned from NASA right before the moon landing, reportedly because he found about the murder of the three astronauts in a fire.

Of course Hillary was a woman so she wasn’t drafted and Bernie just checked out of the Vietnam War.

And this is the unserious party on national security.

Webb is a warrior. A warriors greatest enemy is the guy on the other side trying to kill you and your buddies. Great answer from Webb. Shame he remains in a party that left him decades ago.

Bernie just checked out of the Vietnam War.

At least he wasn't fighting for the other side.

“...he found about the murder of the three astronauts in a fire.”

The Apollo 1 Fire (Grissom, Chaffee and White) was murder? That’s a conspiracy theory I’ve never heard before...

Naval Academy grad, Navy Cross winner, and a fighting and proud Scots-Irish. Jim Webb is a true American hero.

Jim Webb would have been a successful Democrat Presidential candidate - in 1956.

Or a replacement for Wendell Willkie in 1940, perhaps.
