EXCLUSIVE: Carson Says Mainstream Media Can’t Stand Thought of a Black Conservative

Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson says one of his predictions is coming true: The mainstream media is manipulating reality, based on its ideological underpinnings, to come after him during his presidential campaign.

“They’re actually playing right into the narrative that I have predicted for them,” Carson told host Matt Boyle on Breitbart News Sunday. “Because they can’t stand the thought of a black person who is a conservative, who hasn’t had to make it on their handout and be at their beck and call and doing the things that they want them to do. It just infuriates them.”

Carson’s comment came in response to Boyle’s request that he weigh in on the hypocrisy inherent in Daily Show host Trevor Noah’s recent criticism of Carson for saying he would defend himself by fighting back against the gunman in the deadly Oregon shooting on his show, only to admit on a different outlet that the neurosurgeon was correct.

Trump/Carson would be pretty tough to beat.

Good jab at terminally leftward biased media.

A similar attack was mounted against Herman Cain, and they finally had to revert to some kind of sexual innuendo, to drive Cain off the scene.

And that one was wholly contrived by David Axelrod.

I do really like Dr. Carson and enjoy the Trump-eting Donald making heads in the Ministry of Truth explode. Unless Cruz isn’t on the ballot I do not anticipate voting for either man, but that doesn’t prevent me from appreciating the qualities of both.

Cruz will be Trump’s first selection for SCOTUS.

Trump/Carson would be pretty tough to beat.

What exactly would Carson add to the ticket?

Cain did that to himself.

Really?

I kinda figured Powell and Rice were more on the conservative side, but I think both stated they’d vote for obama. I often thought this is what they say in public, but behind the curtain of the voting booth, they might do otherwise. In other words, they had no desire to be blasted by the left media.

To me, Carson standing up to the MSM is a good sign.

Trump/Cruz/Carson - all good people, and could form one hell of a good government. Throw in Palin and a few others, and there could be hope.

Now for fantasy: Just think, Hillary behind bars where she should have been years ago. obama deported as a illegal alien and all legislation he signed reviewed and dismissed as unlawful. Reid and Boner locked in stocks by the Washington Monument. Debbie Wasserman-Shultz sent to Salem to be put on trial for being a witch.

Dr. Carson and other black conservatives who ran away from the liberal “plantation” terrify their white liberal “owners”… thus must be “whupped”... for if one escapes others might get the same idea. Liberal “diversity” is only in skin tone (non-white preferable) and sexual orientation (heterosexual optional) and religion (except Judeo-Christianity) … diversity in thought and politics NO! The “collective” demands but a single mindset… all others are “extremist” and not allowed!

Or Trump will accept Cruz’s offer of the UN ambassadorship for one day to address the General Assembly and say “You’re fired! Now get the Hell out of my city!” It is nice to dream.

What exactly would Carson add to the ticket?

Dr. Carson's presence would make great use of President Obama's community organizing and draw black voters to the GOP ticket in droves.

The left, especially the liberal media, don’t know what to do with uppity blacks who wander off the democrat plantation and manage to prosper.

Conservative?

Mr. Carson said he grew up a Democrat but switched his party affiliation to Republican in the 1980s after listening to Ronald Reagan.

“Like most Democrats who were black I was told most Republicans were evil, racist people. But then I started listening to Ronald Reagan and I thought God it just makes so much sense. Let me investigate this,” said Mr. Carson, who writes a column for The Washington Times.

Mr. Carson said he switched to being an independent about 15 to 20 years ago after getting a “sour taste” watching Republicans who had their own personal foibles impeach President Clinton over an extramarital affair. “I just saw so much hypocrisy in both parties,” he explained.

Dr. Carson's presence would make great use of President Obama's community organizing and draw black voters to the GOP ticket in droves.

So his only strength is his color and the almost certainly forlorn belief that he would attract black voters. The Equal Opportunity Candidate.

Look at Dr. Carson’s race as a BONUS feature, much like you viewed Sarah Palin’s gender a few years back. He is a very capable and accomplished candidate in many other ways.

But it's the only thing you mentioned.

He is a very capable and accomplished candidate in many other ways.

For example?

I think there are many, many conservatives today whose political leanings have followed much the same pattern.

People tend to be more liberal when they are young. If they are intelligent and paying attention they become more conservative. If they have watched closely enough to see the corruption in Washington in both parties, they may have left or at least become disillusioned with the Republican party.

It’s not the hypocrisy, annoying as that is. A hypocrite is someone who fails to live up to his own principles. We all fail. At least conservatives HAVE some principles. Although I dislike the hypocrisy, what strikes me as worse is the idea that “ok, I messed up, so that principle is out the window so I will no longer fight for what I stand (stood?) for and I won’t try to hold anyone else to that standard either.”

Or worse, “Now I’ve compromised myself, so I might as well go all in.” This seems to be the usual pattern with bribe-taking, vote fixing/swapping, trading favors. Now I’m going to get as much as I can.

What conservatives need to do is acknowledge their flaws, make amends wherever possible, and continue to stand for their principles. Screwing up and then giving up is a recipe for disaster. If you’re a greater liability in office than out, then resign. Otherwise take your lumps and keep fighting.
