Every time this happens everyone in the restaurant needs to get up and walk out, no matter if their meal is finished or not. Then crowd the entrance so no-one else gets in.

And how this different from refusing to make a gay cake?

There is no Constitutionally-protected right to bear a cake.

Might as well tell the bad guys that it is open season at the Olive Garden. The police will be there....in about an hour.

KC, MO, isn’t that what Harry S Truman called a “suburb of Independence.”

Olive Garden needs all the customers it can get. Turning on the police doesn’t set well with middle America. So, if they want to only do business in “cop hating areas” they better cool their jets and apologize.

Perhaps we are being too hard on her. I mean, we can assume she would be equally brave in clearly stating company policy when confronting a criminal hyped up on hate and/or antidepressants.

Can someone decipher this for me? It doesn't really make any sense to me what is being conveyed:

“Law enforcement are always welcome to dine (with) us — we heart serving them and have great relationships,” an Olive Garden spokesman said.

what??? On duty don’t count??

1) Nope. "No guns" means "No guns". Learn to live with it.

2) He wasn't "on duty" as a government employee.

3) As Citizens, we're never "off duty".

A uniformed Kansas City, Mo., cop

******************

What I don’t understand is why the cops don’t call their senior officers and asked them
if they would come down and explain or talk to the mgmt. Sometimes lower level employees
may not understand or know the actual policy of the company.

That is exactly what I was going to say: another place to boycott. (And darn it, the food was so good!)

My question: was the officer in uniform?

The restaurant has the right to choose their policy, and take responsibility for the consequences.

But, the reality is: the hostess may not have realized he was a police officer. Open-carry is legal in MO, and he may not have been wearing his uniform.

Should law enforcement officers get special treatment? No, I don’t think they should. But, the restaurant has the right to make that choice.

Anyone who has ever had authentic Italian food would never eat the dog vomit served here. This is not the first time Olive Garden has stepped in it.

As an hiring manager, you need to ask questions to find out if the candidate is a libtard. Do this, and these stupid stories stop.

This is an easy thing to deal with. If you are a cop and have been refused service because of your duty firearm, simply get out your phone, start recording and ask the hostess to restate the establishment’s policy.

Then ask for a manager, when the manager arrives, ask the manager if it is the policy of the establishment to discriminate against law enforcement who are on duty and in uniform.

I agree...something is missing from this, I think. I don’t doubt the waitress may have said that, but I can’t imagine the LEO leaving without speaking to the manager first to validate that is in fact the policy of the restaurant.
