Trump Holding Steady Nationally; Rubio Biggest Gainer
PPP ^ | 10/615 | Tom Jansen

PPP's newest national Republican poll actually finds the top of the field in a pretty similar place to where it was in late August. Donald Trump leads the field with 27%, similar to the 29% he had on our last survey. Ben Carson is in second place with 17%, also similar to the 15% he had last time around. Marco Rubio at 13%, Jeb Bush at 10%, Ted Cruz at 7%, Carly Fi orina at 6%, and Mike Huckab ee and John Kasich each at 4% round out the list of candida tes with decent levels of support. Chris Christie, Rand Paul, and Rick Santorum are all at 2%, Lindsey Graham, Bobby Jindal, and George Pataki each get 1%, and in last pla ce with less than 1% is Jim Gilmore.

Obviously Trump needs to drop out now. I mean, he's at 27% which means that 73% are against him.

Of course 90% are against Jebbie Bush but it's the 10% that are for him that really matters here. The other 90% don't matter.

There are two major categories of voter in this season's republican primaries - those who've decided they like what Trump says, and those leaping from alternative to Trump alternative in a desperate bid to knock him out of the race.

One thing I can guarantee - the MSM/political establishment will stop short of offering Ted Cruz as an alternative to Trump.

Stay tuned, there are 15 other candidates the GOPe has in reserve to try to batter down The Donald.

Donald Trump leads the field with 27%,... Jeb Bush at 10%...

If Trump drops down to Bush league, then we got a contest!

Here is the latest RCP poll average with the PPP poll at the top one line down from the average in yellow. My take:

Cruz up a bit with his 7
Rubio continues to climb with his 13
Fiorina is slowly fading, polling well below her average
Trump upping his average a bit. This is his best recent poll at 27.
Carson holding at 17.

Carly has been dropping at a good rate. Megan will have to have her on her show more often.

Go Trump/Cruz

Don’t know why amnesty-Rubio is climbing or why Carson seems to be gaining. He’s a nice man, but out of his league here. Trump and Cruz will be the last 2 standing. IMO

I agree. The last two on our side. But the last four are going to be Trump, Cruz, Bush and Rubio. One of those four will be the nominee.

The IBD/TIPP poll showing Carson beating Trump has never been used before in the average of polls. I think we all know the reason. It shows Trump actually losing and that’s the one Bloody Megyn will be talking about for the next month.

Yes, they will and I came to that conclusion a long time ago. The only remaining question is where do these people who "leap from alternative to alternative" go when it's obvious their alternative sucks?

I still think the Carson people are 75-80% Trumpsters in the end. I think he'll get some of the Fiorina people, although they are a lot of intellectuals and GOPe types who are somewhat snobbish. Trump is too proletarian for them (LOL, funny, a billionaire proletarian).

“Don’t know why amnesty-Rubio is climbing or why Carson seems to be gaining. “

Rubiamnesty had a good debate, for those that are drawn in by surface impressions without looking at the issues. Carson, I believe, gained because of his courageous Muslim comments. Being non-PC is being greatly rewarded, finally.
