Climate change is such a pressing, dangerous and universal threat that it should be made illegal under international law, a top barrister has told a conference of leading lawyers in London.
Philippe Sands QC, an international law specialist and Professor of Law at University College London, argued that the UN’s International Court of Justice (ICJ) should make it an “obligation under international law” to ensure that global temperatures never rise more than 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
This would follow the precedent of a landmark decision in June this year by a Dutch court as a result of a case brought by a green activist group – the Urgenda Foundation – against the Netherlands government. The court ruled that the government must reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by much more than it had intended – by at least 25 per cent by 2020, relative to 1990 levels – in order to prevent possibly dangerous climate change.

The person who tells me that the 100% know precisely what the global temperature was in the pre industrial age is simply lying.
If you’re going to make it illegal, you have to define it. Can anyone here define “climate change” in such a way that it is a principle for laws to be written around?
Instead, it’s an open book for politically correct speech codes, oppressive regulation, hierarchical bureacracy... all “in Climate’s Name.” A false church.
Fear and threats is all the envirowackos have left. The weather just doesn’t cooperate with their scam.
Science as we know it has not been able to account for every factor that went into the climate swings of yore (even assuming old-earth models). Not even the relative intensity of the sun, which would seem to be a very elementary question!
They want to make anti-global warming the next “N” word. You say anything against GW and you’re arrested for saying the wrong thing. Welcome to the new liberal America.
Also, nobody has identified an optimal average temperature.
