Businessman Donald Trump remains the front-runner for the GOPs 2016 presidential nomination following his last debate performance, a new poll says.
Trump remains eight points above his nearest competition following last weeks contest in Simi Valley, Calif., according to a Fox News survey.
Trump commands 26 percent support. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, meanwhile, ranks second with 18 percent.
Trump led an August version of the poll with 25 percent, followed by Carson at 12 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 10 percent.
Fox News latest results follow Trumps boycott against the media outlet earlier Wednesday following repeated spats with its various personalities.
@FoxNews has been treating me very unfairly and I have therefore decided that I wont be doing anymore Fox shows for the foreseeable future, Trump tweeted.
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) tied for third place in Fox's poll with 9 percent apiece.

Sucks to be Fox right now. :-)
Gil-more or less.
Sucks to be Jeb Bush and Karl Rove right now, too.
“It has a 4.5 percent margin of error among GOP primary voters.”
The poll movement in the article is probably noise. Maybe the bump for Fiorina and Rubio is a bump. Other than that maybe, Trump, Carson and Cruz stayed where they were pre-debate.
How can Cruz be below Rubio and Fiorina?
Is TC on the faux news hit list too?
Fox News is a part of The Ministry Of Propaganda.
They have a slightly different delivery, but the agenda is the same.
Right now, The Cheap Labor Express is pounding on them to take Trump’s numbers down. All of their previous attempts to take him out have failed. They do not want people thinking that the illegal alien inundation could be stopped. They’ve spent billions propagandizing that the only answer is surrender.
That 22% you were referencing earlier is about 34% here.
Just watched a great interview of him on One America News.
Still nice to see Cruz above Bush.
I still credit Trump with devastating Bush’s poll numbers. I doubt any other candidate would have been attacking Bush the way Trump did this early and the attacks worked.
Trump, Carson & Cruz poll numbers total 52%.
The rest? 48%
Interesting thing, at least to me.
Rubio and Fiorina both had a great debate.
Carson had a pretty good one
Trump and Cruz just so so.
I kinda expect Rubio and Fiorina to start sliding back after the next round of polls.
But we shall see.
I thought Fix News decided Forino was to be number one.
So I wonder what Rove is putting on his little chalk board tonight? How about “it sucks to be me”? LOL!
According to the article, the Carson jump was 6%. That is more than the 4.5% margin of error, so probably means actual increase in support for Carson. Having heard a 20 minute speech he gave, I agree that he was more impressive with that than with 2 minute sound bites as he complained.
It seems odd that Jindal and Santorum are both under Gilmore.
Fiorina already down from 13%.
LOL.
After her “Muzziefest”, she will be at 6% : )
If you trust Fox News. I would sooner trust Obama ; )
This poll is totally made up. Trump is way beyond 30%
That's what we were confidentially told by stern looking people on the TV.
