Carly Fiorina has rocketed into second place in the Republican presidential field on the heels another strong debate and Donald Trump has lost some support, a new national CNN/ORC poll shows.
The survey, conducted the three days after 23 million people tuned in to Wednesday night's GOP debate on CNN, shows that Trump is still the party's front-runner with 24% support. That, though, is an 8 percentage point decrease from earlier in the month when a similar poll had him at 32%.
Fiorina ranks second with 15% support -- up from 3% in early September. She's just ahead of Ben Carson's 14%, though Carson's support has also declined from 19% in the previous poll.

I think this is less about the strength of Fiorina’s debate performance than it is backlash from women who were not very impressed by Trump’s “face comment”.

Anybody watch her walking off the CNN debate everyone else was talking to another candidate but not Carly , she was by herself walking like a peacock.

Fiorina is just the latest attempt to stop Trump, she won’t be the last.

Very possible. It was a big mistake on his part. Time will tell. For sure if he is the nominee he will be absolutely taken to the woodshed in the general election.

Post debate bump based on her exposure and performance. It will be interesting to see how the media uses words like rocket and rises over the next weeks as her numbers settle and Trump’s stay consistent or increase. Watch for headlines and exclamations from the media on Fiorina. Similar to two weeks ago when Carson supposedly was tied (statistically speaking) with Trump. The headlines will read “_____(fill in the blank) rockets to 2nd place just behind Trump”. Every two weeks or just after each debate they can change the name with who the candidate du jour or anti-Trump is that week.
Trump is defying that mold, as the press attacks have only strengthened him. The liberal media is now biding its time, building up anyone who will attack him, as well Let's hope that the Republicans have too many good candidates to all be taken out in the remaining time.
