[O]ver the course of his decades-long involvement in American political life, Trump has taken positions on liberal priorities that would put him firmly in the Elizabeth Warren wing of the Democratic Party.
1. Government health care for all 2. Legalize all drugs 3. Tax the wealth of the 1% 4. No more foreign wars 5. Defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership and protect American workers
[P]rogressives could learn a thing or two from some of the positions the Donald has taken over the years. And to combat inequality, incarceration, and war, progressives may want their ideal 2016 candidate to be more like Trump.

Blah, blah, blah.
An even clearer case for Trump’s “progressive” bona fides (which FR wouldn’t let me post):

The article somewhat duplicitous
Continued incoming. He’s still over the target.
Several of these 5 “progressive” positions are conservative.
Sadly yes
I see, maybe, one.
Hopefully he keeps the heat up and draws more attention to America’s issues.
Even if it is all conversation, he certainly has America talking and the thinking comes with it.
Best part? To this point he has huge support!
Sounds like Mr. Eric is none to happy with the old nag he has in this race.
They can’t take him out head on, so now they’re trying a little reverse psychology.
I personally hope he doesn’t get pinned down too hard on the “conservative agenda” en route to the nomination. I’d love for him to come out with a couple of these in the general election and just watch the media and Democrat Party apparatus just lose it.
Buckley was for #2, and #5 defies left-right alignment.
We must have universal health care, Trump wrote. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by health care expenses.
He even cited Canadas publicly funded health care system as a model worth emulating.

I guess MSNBC is confused?
Over the past 10 years, positions I held that i NO LONGER do.
Minimum wage necessary. FR arguments proved me very wrong.
Domestic partnership for gays. Was inevitably going to lead to the mess we have now. Strike two.
meet halfway with dems and have abortions illegal after 4 months. SO MURDERING BABIES THE FIRST SIXTEEN WEEKS WAS OK? I just wanted some of the murdering to end at all costs. But one human life is not worth the cost. I was VERY wrong.
Let the hard working immigrants stay. Why? My grandparents came here legally. There are lots of SKILLED people that want to come who wont end up on welfare needing snap and section 8 to survive. Not paying taxes. And how would you know when the “hard working” illegals are going to stop being “hard working”? VERY WRONG on that one.
If past views are what matters, then at least a handful of FReepers might be gone. I’ll give Donald the benefit of the doubt.
This sort of position paper makes the Left's heads explode like the Martians on Mars Attacks! when they hear Slim Whitman.
Nice try, TBP.
Trump is the anti-establishment frontrunner. Go, Trump, GO!!
How many IDs are you using, nickcarraway?
how so?
Changed mind on #1,3 and #4 incorrect Trump supported Afghanistan.
