Red Faces at Jeb Campaign — His New 'America' Ad Shot Overseas
newsnax ^ | 16 Sep 2015 | Bill Hoffmann

Jeb Bush's new political ad rips Donald Trump and gushes about the bright future of America — but incredibly, the spot uses footage shot Asia and the United Kingdom, Politico reports.

The embarrassing disclosure couldn't come at a worse time for Bush, who political insiders say must make a major splash in Wednesday's GOP presidential debate on CNN if he hopes to save his sinking poll numbers.

The ad in question — produced by the former Florida governor's super PAC "Right to Rise" — trashes Bush's nemesis Donald Trump with ominous clips of the billionaire developer and says he's in a "very dark place."

Then the sun is seen rising over a field with the words, "choose the brighter path," and Bush jumps in, saying: "If we get a few big things right, we can make lives better for millions of people in this nation where every life matters and everyone has the right to rise."

But it turns out the imagery has nothing to do with the United States.

"The sun is rising over a field in Cornwall, England — a clip available for between $19 and $79 on Shutterstock," Politico says.

Another reason to ask why with 320 million Americans, we have to have a 3rd Bush running for the presidency. The question: “Why another Bush, when this one is so obviously a challenged soul?”

Shot in Old World Spain, with glimpses of the new Mexican paradise, Jebuardo Bush taking another siesta.

Is that what you mean? :>)

Did he pay in pesos or British pounds? At least it’s in England and not in his beloved Tijuana..

Good point. I hear his donors are on the line depending on his marks after tonight’s ‘debate’.

What a colossal waste of campaign funds! Anyone on F/R ever done production work for a political tv ad? I can only guess that took tens of thousands of donated dollars. Then to feature almost any country except ours? Is Jeb! shoving a shiv in the ribs of his own campaign?

If I don’t hear that anyone was fired, replaced or reassigned on his team, I will continue to wonder if he even wants this. And if not, why jump (or attempt to jump) through all these firey hoops and hurdles? Maybe he considers repeatedly running for president a ‘fun passtime’, like our pal, Mitt.

The scene where two guys are pushing a box up a bamboo scaffold could never be taken in the United States. You don’t see a lot of bamboo scaffolding around here.

You have to be completely unfamiliar with construction of any kind to think that footage was taken in the US.
