In Minnesota, 1,500 pro-life supporters gathered together outside the governors mansion to call on Gov. Mark Dayton to investigate Planned Parenthood and stop funding the abortion company. As LifeNews previously reported, Gov. Dayton has refused to launch an investigation into Planned Parenthood even though sixty-five state legislators have urged him to do so. He said, As far as Im concerned theres no basis for an investigation at taxpayer expense into a private nonprofit organization that has stated they dont engage in those practices here in Minnesota.
Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood operates eighteen facilities in Minnesota and they perform approximately 50% of the states abortions. Although the abortion company claims their facilities in the state do not participate in organ donation, in the ninth video released by The Center for Medical Progress, the Procurement Manager for Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR), said her firm purchases aborted babies from clinics in San Diego, in Oregon, in Minnesota, and soon we will be starting in New Jersey and Philadelphia.
The ABR manager doesnt call out Planned Parenthood by name but it is definitely possibly they are lying about their organ harvesting negotiations in the state. Brian Gibson, the director of Pro-Life Action Ministries, said the following about Planned Parenthood and the event at the governors mansion: Reports from the rally included the clear call for Gov. Dayton to investigate Planned Parenthood on the heels of the latest CMP undercover video that named Minnesota as a location with a clinic(s) providing aborted babies parts for Planned Parenthoods longtime procurement partner Advanced BioScience Resources (ABR).
He continued, For the first time, PPMNSD CEO Sarah Stoesz, was having to answer reporters questions about their involvement in the sale of aborted baby parts to ABR. Stoesz was forced to deny and deny and deny repeatedly. When I was asked by reporters about her denial, it was simple to state that everyone accused of a crime denies having done anything wrong.
Gibson added that Minnesota enacted the countrys first fetal disposal law and it makes it a crime to do anything with the remains of aborted babies other than a dignified burial or cremation. Pro-life Rep. Abigail Whelan attended the event and shared her concerns about Planned Parenthood with Channel 11 News.
She said, My concern is that Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities in the state of Minnesota may be selling babies body parts and that violates one of our fetal disposal laws. We have people going to inspect tattoo parlors to make sure that they are abiding by the laws. We dont take their word for it and have the restaurant owner say Yes, we are following all the health codes. We say thats great but we are still going to inspect you. The same thing goes for Planned Parenthood other abortion facilities.
Another pro-life lawmakers in the state, Rep. Kathy Lohmer (R-Stillwater) said, There is really no other business in the state of Minnesota that has no oversight whatsoever but for some reason we dont these organizations.
Great.
