BREAKING: AP sources: Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry to drop out of 2016 Republican presidential race.
His usefulness as an attack dog for the GOP has been diluted and taken over by others. His early initial jabs at Trump came across as that made by some ‘crazed’ Texan. He hasn’t been significant since. Super PAC money stopped flowing and is going to others. He was NEVER going to be the nominee. His only job originally was to prevent Cruz, Paul, and Walker from advancing. Perry was and is a true team player.
Gee, will anyone even watch the 2nd tier debate? If they have it in time zones of drive time, dinner time and happy hour, who’s going to want to hear Graham do the Lindsay, Santorum needlepoint a V-neck, Jindal harp on Trump, and who are those other guys???? :)
Hoping Jeb will be next.
Well the residual bunch is pretty lame I agree, but the first one gave Carly some pretty good momentum.
I thought Santorum would be the first to step out.
Ol Rick....he hung in there until the skinny skunk stunk.....or something like that.
Good riddance and buh bye.
Trump predicted it accurately.
Will hew then stop wearing his superman glasses?
I thought he was trying to imitate Palin.
No flaming, I really thought that. He would be stupid enough to come up with something like that.
I know it was not for better eyesight to down coyotes
With Perry gone and CNN expanding the later debate to 11 so Fiona can be at it, the early debate will have only 5 attendees.
They will end up getting more face time than the later debate attendees.
At the FoxNews later debate, the average time was about 4 minutes, with Bush getting 6 and Trump getting 8.
Should have dropped out about this time in 2011.
= :^)
He’s 0-2.
I like a lot of what Perry has to say...but he just does not have the ability to get it out in such a way to attract the votes or the following.
Given the results in two attempts, I know I’d advise against trying it again in the future.
Trump responds to the news:
"Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 7m7 minutes ago .@GovernorPerry is a terrific guy and I wish him well- I know he will have a great future! "
What’s weird is that a few days ago Trump said Perry was dropping out. Then Perry came out with that strange thing he said - a broken clock is right once a day - or some such nonsense. How did Trump know this?
This is it. Some people are lieutenants, some are majors, and some are generals. Rick is a good major, not a general.
Perry could be a nice part of a Trump Cabinet.
Attacking Trump really worked for him!
Took one more shot at people who want immigration laws enforced on his way out the door.
1 RINO down, 99 (or more) left on the wall.
He is NOT smart.
I am Glad he is gone& I am a Texan.
Didn’t he call Trump “a cancer” on the party? In any case Trump doesn’t hire stupid people.
Perry’s presidential possibilities ended with his “heartless” comment last time around. He got on the wrong side of immigration then and never changed. No one who is in favor of freebies for illegals has a chance this time.
