DNC chair closes door on more debates [DEM DEBATE DRAMA DNC REVOLT]

Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is closing the door on adding more Democratic presidential debates, and said a controversial clause penalizing candidates for participating in unsanctioned debates would stand.

Speaking at a breakfast with reporters hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, Wasserman Schultz, who has been under fire by Democratic presidential candidates and some within the DNC, said the debate schedule was final and there would be no changes.

“We’re not changing the process. We’re having six debates,” she said. “The candidates will be uninvited from subsequent debates if they accept an invitation to anything outside of the six sanctioned debates.”

In recent weeks, pressure has been building on the DNC to grow the debate schedule. The national party has sanctioned six debates, a dramatic cutback from 2008, when there were about two-dozen.

Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley has been railing against the national party, calling the debate process “rigged” and claiming that the DNC was “facilitating a coronation” for frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

O’Malley’s lawyer has challenged the legality of the DNC’s “exclusivity clause,” which states that any candidate who participates in an unsanctioned debate will be barred from attending future sanctioned debates.

He is urging his supporters to rally outside DNC headquarters next week along with an outside group called #AllowDebate that has the same aim.

And isn’t the schedule unusual?? I think one of the debates in an early voting state, either Iowa or New Hampshire, is scheduled for a few days before Christmas??? At a time when the holidays and not politics will dominate people’s activities?????

None of this matters. Come election time, Obama can just issue a decree making the candidate of his choice President of the USA for as long as he wishes. I’m sure that will be OK with everybody.

Looks like Debbie Downer has decided to put all her eggs in the Hillary basket. Yet another reason to relish the thought of Hillary going down. (Not that I need another one, but this is a really good one.)

I think the ‘others’ should just sit down at a table and agree to dump the DNC deal. Let Hillary sit down by herself and let the moderator ask her stupid questions...while the ‘others’ do a real debate.

“We’re having six debates”

Really? Does anyone think we want or even need ONE debate? Maybe one debate lasting six minutes.

After watching O’Malley and Clinton spew their crap - hell America would just hand the win to whatever Repub is lucky enough to last through the primaries.

Funny. DWS qualifications. Dumber than Barbara Boxer, more irritating than Nancy Pelosi. More full of crap than the wife of the former disbarred, impeached rapist.

O’Malley should go full Ralph Nader on the rats. /I know. You never go “full” Ralph Nader

Debates DO NOT HELP HILLARY in any way.
Therefore, push any debates off as far as possible.

Well, the 3 people this will not hurt are Hillary Biden & Gore. Everyone else running or possibly running is not enough of a name.

I’ve posted a couple times about my concern that Trump is “sucking the air out of the room”. It’s not just for the GOP it’s for everything. There is a lot out there that doesn’t escape the keen eye of some here. But as for the general public? They will care ZERO about this and many other things that should get there attention.

Just hoping it all settles down before April or so.

The debates spoiled Hillary’s Coronation in 2008.

IF they even hold any this year, they will be TIGHTLY controlled to insure that none of the “Fringe” candidates can repeat 2008.

Too many Corrupt Dems want some of the TRILLIONS in graft that they missed out on in 2008.

Trying to protect Hillary. Won't work.

I suspect that Debbie Downer's days as DNC chair are numbered.

If Sanders and O’Malley had balls they would tell Debbie to go to hell and schedule their own debates. Then Hillary could stand on the stage all by herself during the DNC sanctioned debates.

Of course, Hillary has flip flopped so many times on so many issues over the years that she could have a very spirited debate if she debated herself.
