You are a 100% correct that free trade and open borders mesh perfectly for the elites....And it is all about the money to be made via both of these policies.
Follow the money! Who profits from open borders and free trade? I have instinctively despised both policies for 25 years but used to be stupid in not realizing that both are money driven.

I’ve heard similar things about the liberal “reporters” over the years. They come from money so don’t really need the job, but love “reporting” their thoughts to the fly over unwashed.
