Gutless bastards, every one of them.
This abdication of the Senate’s constitutional duties was made possible in part by every Republican Senator running for President (they all voted for the Corker atrocity).
The next election may offer a rejection of Obama’s policies but it will not favor sitting republicans. The entire class, dem and pub, needs to be turned out in this next election.
I will be absolutely shocked if McConnell does anything but bend over forthwith and give Obama exactly what he wants. He's a political coward with not a shred of principle.
No matter what...They’re going to get $150 Billion and trade deals with all the other countries involved with this fiasco.
Our “leaders” are such feckless, integrity-free dipsh**s.
“The response of the Republican Senate majority to the filibuster threat is muddled. When asked whether the majority could beat back a filibuster maneuver, Senator Corker lamented, “I don’t know, I don’t know.”
You have to hand the GOP establishment one thing. They are consistent. Muddled is the perfect description.
Lists should be kept of the enemies of America and, come the revolution, the scaffolds should be busy; of course, we don’t know which side is going to win the revolution.
This is why I denounce and mock those who claim Ted Cruz is the only one who understands and defends the US Constitution.
Cruz voted for this mess and is now speaking out against the deal. He is no better than John Kerry who voted for use of force in Iraq before voting against it.
Heck, I figure ole Mac should just give the hammer to ole One Eye from Nevada and let him run the senate. He seems to be running it the way he wants to anyway.
Tom Cotton is the only one with clean hands on this.
all the rest ceded their veto power to Obama
McConnell should go nuclear for the sole reason that if he doesn’t Iran will.
Why do the repubs not force the vote and make the demodummies state their position. No executive order on this one.
Bingo. Same as his sell-out on fast track trade authority to Obama. For it before he was against it. And against it only when the votes were there to pass it without him.
The fact that neither Corker nor McConnell apparently demanded an up-or-down vote on this deal is indefensible.
Nailed it!
This is all theater. Kerry took the “deal” to the UN and signed it. It is a done deal no matter what the Senate does. Iran will get 150 billion to fund killing Americans and Israels.
This deal is a TREATY! And per the Constitution it must be approved by 2/3 of the Senate BEFORE it becomes effective. Obama doesn’t just get to negotiate a treaty and declare it in effect while daring Congress to oppose it.
