Texas Sen. Ted Cruz rallied a crowd at the Iowa State Fair on Friday as he doubled down on his comment that sanctions relief to Iran would make the Obama administration the leading financier of terrorism.
Several weeks ago I observed that if this deal goes through, the Obama administration would become, quite literally, the worlds leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism, the Republican presidential candidate said of the Iran nuclear deal.
In response to that, President Obama got very upset, Cruz continued. He interrupted his busy world travel, in between the eighth and ninth hole, to attack me, to come after me, to say, Thats ridiculous. That rhetoric is too much. Do not say that. Its interesting in the entire course of his attack, the president didnt bother to refute any of the substance of what I said. Let me give you a very simple point. Truth, is not rhetoric.
Cruz went on to assert that more than $100 billion in sanctions relief would allow money to flow into Iran, the worlds leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
If that happens, billions of those dollars will go directly to Hamas, to Hezbollah to the Houthis, to radical Islamic terrorists throughout the world, and those jihadists will use those billions that we control to murder Americans, to murder Israelis, to murder Europeans, Cruz said. If President Obama doesnt like the rhetoric of his administration becoming the worlds leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism, there is an easy solution: Stop financing radical Islamic terrorism.
In July, Obama denounced the comment without naming Cruz saying that a sitting senator running for president who suggested Im the leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
Cruz delivered several red meat lines at the Iowa State Fairs Soapbox event sponsored by the Des Moines Register, a key stop leading up to the Iowa caucuses in February.
Iowa could be a critical state for Cruz, as he has risen in the polls since the first GOP presidential debate in Cleveland.
Cruz talked about how the Republican debate contrast with the upcoming Democratic debate.
Im pretty sure the first Democratic debate is going to consist of Hillary Clinton and the Chipotle clerk, Cruz said. Thats not fair. We cant forget about Bernie Sanders. So now the Democratic field consists of a wild-eyed socialist with ideas that are dangerous for America and the world, and Bernie Sanders.
Cruz also pledged a flat tax and to abolish the Internal Revenue Service and managed to tie it into the issue du jour, illegal immigration, with a joke about where he would place them.
There are about 90,000 employees at the IRS, Cruz said. We need to take all 90,000 and put them down on our southern border. To our friends in the media, I say that somewhat tongue-in-cheek. But if you think about it, imagine you traveled thousands of miles in the blazing sun. You are swimming across the Rio Grand. The first thing you see is 90,000 IRS agents. You would turn around and go home too.
It’s really too bad Cruz most likely doesn’t have a chance, I really like the guy a lot...that line about IRS agents at the border is great. You’d turn around too...hehe
Huckabee pulled a similar one about Hillary in the debates that was pretty funny...Cruz just changed it a little and made it about Hillary and Bernie...And I like a sense of humor...Cruz definitely has one. Thing is, Trump is more likely to be the main event, and some of the stuffed suits are actually beginning to say he might get the nomination...I just hope he has sense enough to bring Cruz on as VP...
"Several weeks ago I observed that if this deal goes through, the Obama administration would become, quite literally, the world's leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism... In response to that, President Obama got very upset... He interrupted his busy world travel, in between the eighth and ninth hole, to attack me, to come after me, to say, 'That's ridiculous. That rhetoric is too much. Do not say that.' It's interesting in the entire course of his attack, the president didn't bother to refute any of the substance of what I said. Let me give you a very simple point. Truth, is not rhetoric."
I liked Ted’s challenge to debate Obama on the senate floor on the merits of the deal and if he can’t make it, John Kerry would be welcome to take his place.
What, the Blaze is a conservative site now?
:’) He can probably whip both of them at golf, too. :’)
Ya know, I don’t think Ted Cruz is a golfer.
Ted voted for the the Senate bill that gave Obama the deal with Iran, by changing it so Obama only needed a third of the Senate, rather than the two-thirds of a regular treaty.
Cruz has no credibility in complaining about it now.
From what I’ve seen, neither is Zero, and Lurch wouldn’t know which end of the club to use.
Ted Cruz doesn’t yell “FORE”
Ted Cruz yells “PULL”
Heh... heh... that *would* count as a “hole in one”. ;’)
Obama answers to no one. He ignores Congress and those pimps do nothing about it. And the Pimp-In-Chief certainly will never hear Brother Cruz’s, or anyone else’s, criticisms.
Ted Cruz is too smart by half. The language he uses is too high-minded for the average voter.
He should have said, "Obama gives money to terrorists!"
Short bumper sticker slogans.
As much as we all make fun of Liberals and their stupid bumper sticker slogans, they're extremely effective.
Obama armed and trained ISIS. Why would he stop?
This is why we lose.
Obama and his Liberal Army doesn't have to debate. They wield supreme power.
Romney tried that crap in 2012, I'll never forget it. "I challenge President Obama to a debate!" Meanwhile, Obama went to the closest video camera and said that Romney is a rich frat boy racist.
It was like Thurston Howell the Third vs. black Incredible Hulk.
Here's an idea:
A Republican should say that Obama is a fake black guy, because he had a lily white mother from Kansas.
Then the Republican should say that Obama's white half is racist, and his black half is a race traitor.
The media would self destruct for days. Then about a week later, a different Republican comes up with another vicious attack from another angle. Suddenly the media forgets about the first attack and focuses on the second. All the while, the target is under constant attack.
That's how we win.
Vicious, constant, confusing, and personal attacks. That's how we will beat these people. They've been doing it to us for decades.

If already doing both, then pass the word - if it ain't worth investing in, it ain't worth whining about when it doesn't go your way. Many need to hear the message....
