Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Friday he favors term limits for members of Congress, suggesting 12-year terms for members of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate and hinting the same time frame could extend to members of the federal judiciary.
....He pointed to the two-term limit on U.S. presidents and said, “I’d even accommodate, say, let’s make it 12 so that the U.S. Senate and the House are consistent amongst each other.”
“It also makes sense not just for the House and the Senate — if the president’s term limited, if the House and the Senate members were ever to be term limited, which I would support, say, at 12 years — I would apply [that] same standard to members of the federal judiciary,” he said. “Why not say it’s lifetime so it’s not elected or anything like that, but limit it to 12 years as well and then open the door for somebody else to be appointed?”...

12 years is 6 years too long. 1 term Senate, 1 term House, then get your butt back to your real job.
Elected office shouldn’t be a full time job.

The unfortunate fact is that for all too many of them, running for office is their real job.
No, not a fan. And I just think that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Every political office, regardless of whether it's the federal or state level, should be term limited. And I'm open to the same for federal judges, too.
If there were term limits for all elective office, you would still have career politicians playing leapfrog and running for other offices.
For example, they would run for state legislature, stay until term limited out, then run for state senate. Then after that, run for U.S. Congress. When term limited out there, run for U.S. Senate. After that, run for lieutenant governor or attorney general or governor of their state. If they play their cards right, they would spend their entire working lifetime in elective office.
There are lots of young radicals in federal courts who were appointed by Obama. Would be nice to have term limits so they don’t stay for 30 or 40 years.

And he can run again in 2018...and 2022...and 2026 because he's not term limited. Thirty eight states limit the number of terms their chief executive can serve. Why doesn't Governor Walker see the need in his own state?

Take a look at the state constitutional amendment. It limits it to two terms served after 1990. Brown's first time in office was 1975 to 1983.
Yeah, that's an easy pander biscuit for Walker to throw.
Well, being a career politician since he was 26 years old has worked for Walker.
