NASHVILLE, TN -(Ammoland.com)- On August 12, 2015 the sold-out crowd at the Bridgestone Arena was brought to a standing ovation when four war heroes were invited onstage and presented with Henry Military Service Tribute Rifles during the Charlie Daniels 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam.
Anthony Imperato, President of Henry Repeating Arms, gifted the rifles to thank the veterans for their heroic contributions to our country. The presentation was made midway through The Charlie Daniels Bands set, with Charlie standing by. Imperato also presented Charlie Daniels with a customized Henry Golden Boy rifle embellished with the Volunteer Jam logo and an inscription reading Presented to Charlie Daniels- Thank you for your patriotism and all that you do for our veterans.

Very cool ;’)
I want one of those in 44-40 or .357 magnum.
dear frog,
re:
“I want one of those in 44-40 or .357 magnum.”
The CURRENT big boy is chambered in .357 magnum.
The ORIGINAL design is chambered in .44-40.
The current one is loaded from the top end of the magazine tube, with no ‘standard’ loading gate, and no twistie top barrel.
The original has not changed design, has the open magazine tube, with the slide catch in it, and the swivel barrel, oh, and no foreend stock.
Very nice...

The original is definitely nice for the historical significance and the cool factor, but the Big Boy would be more practical, esp. if you already own a pistol of the same caliber.
A Winchester with a side loading gate might come in handy when under zombie attack, though.
dear frog,
I would go for the ‘original’, because I am, besides a HiPower guy, a lover of all things lever action. (maybe because JM Browning had his hand in that, too?)
The Winchester design does make the axiom:
“Load two, shoot two.” more of a reality and swiftness, compared to unshouldering, reaching near the muzzle to twist open the loading tube, to insert cartridge by cartridge, put the tube back down and over the pin slot, then shouldering.
