Israeli Ambassador to the U.S, Ron Dermer on Sunday compared Israels unified stance on the Iran nuclear deal and support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his campaign against the deal to the times when Moses led the Jews out of Egypt to the promised land.
In an interview on CNN with Fareed Zakaria, Sunday morning, Dermer said that he had no doubt President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are being sincere when they say they believe the Iran deal is good for the U.S. and Israel; however, We just disagree with their judgment. We think this deal will endanger Israels security.
In Israel this view is shared by the prime minister, by the head of the opposition, by 30 out of 33 members of our [Knesset] foreign affairs and defense committee, her asserted. Moses didnt have those kind of numbers.
Dermer explained that the prime minister had no choice but to fight the deal, despite the implications it may have on the U.S.-Israel relationship. Theres no question that this is the most important relationship in the world, and we are not eager in any way to have to be at odds on the most important policy priority of the president of the United States. Thats a big deal, said Dermer. But the survival of the state of Israel is also a big deal, and we believe that this deal threatens the survival of Israel.
He also said that while Israel is not directly lobbying U.S. lawmakers to vote down the deal, We are telling them that this is a bad deal that endangers Israels security.
Moses had to deal with unpopularity during his time.
He led them out of Egypt, and then not too long, they were demanding to go back.
Just saying.
BULLSH-T!!!
The only ones the Iran deal is good for is Iran.
John Kerry and Obama should be tried for treason.
Netanyahu is a great leader for Israel. But I won’t compare anyone to Moses.
>> But I wont compare anyone to Moses.<<
obozo is doing that on his own.
A little blasphemy to make a point... But Moses can take it.
About this magic relationship, we have as much or more to lose than Israel. The special relationship has prevented Israel from selling US weapons technology and possibly even some of their own derivative technology to countries like China and Russia. End the special relationship and they are free to do lots of things they haven’t done so far. They can more than make up for the lost foreign military aide. And, as a result the US will need to respond to the increased capacity of our potential enemies with a huge investment that will be much larger than the FMS given to Israel.
Incidentally, it isn’t aid in cash. They have to spend it here so it’s really a jobs program for US industry.
the ambassador is being so very very VERY diplomatic
about Obama/Kerry
he’s really got it down to an Art Form
(afterwards, he must go home and heave into the toilet)
