A plurality of college students think billionaire businessman Donald Trump won the first Republican presidential debate, according to a poll released Monday.
Twenty-six percent of college or college-bound students said Trump won the debate, according to a survey from Chegg, an online textbook rental and tutoring company.
Sixteen percent said former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush won, 14 percent thought Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) won and 10 percent went for Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
Ten percent of college students said nobody won.

I am a Cruz supporter but I think it would be a brilliant campaign strategy if somebody starting saying that all dreams mattered (not just illegals). Mark Levin makes the point all the time that all kids and parents have dreams not just illegals.

How is Ted going to reach the college kids whose minds are already being warped by their professors’ required reading lists even before college begins again...
To: Resettozero
Apparently all he has to do is say something completely meaningless that sounds deep.

WHO has to? Are you sure you are responding to my post? Doesn't appear you are.
To: Resettozero
Actually I was responding to you.
Don’t worry, I won’t waste time doing it again.

I think there is great potential for libertarians and conservatives on campus.
I know college kids hate speech censorship.
During college a lot of kids figure out who the free loaders are on campus. You just need somebody to relate that experience to the real world.

Even liberals are starting to complain of liberal censorship or totalitarianism on campus. They created the situation and now don’t like it.

I think you have misunderstood what I was asking. I do not know what you first response to me meant or who you were posting in reference to. Regrets that I offended you.

Hoping Trump’s “popular conservatism” brings in a lot of raw ore that Cruz’ constitutional forge could temper. Dynamic Duo. Trump/Cruz

I don't think he has to...most of the don't vote....their feet rarely follow their mouths. However,...Ol Bernie is bringing in throngs with promises for free college, $15 wages and universal health.....
They're such dipwads that it wouldn't take much for Trump to reel them in since many are already abandoning Hillary and Bernie as being out of touch with modern times. They recognize that Trump is in touch with the business of the modern world so he'll likely easily draw the stragglers along the way.

Look. This makes no sense.
I watched Frank Luntz’ debate response group and their opinions were nothing like these college kids. /s

My point was simply that I don’t think Ted Cruz can say a lot to reach out to them because they want to hear things that make them feel good and that simply isn’t reality.
That isn’t to say that things are hopeless, just that most college students these days aren’t interested in hearing that a lot of hard work and disappointment are the only way for the world to get better.

Thanks for relating Bernie’s free college offers to countering any Cruz appeal to average college students. At least, that’s what came to my mind.
I think it takes a degree of wisdom to understand Ted Cruz while one is college-age. Wisdom that only privately-tutored students have much of a shot at obtaining at a young age.
I have great respect for the power of the university to kill young people’s intellects and to force-march students in line with Marxist thinking.
