He collapsed because he sought to ally himself with Senator Tuckey Neck Gobbler McConnell.

IMHO, too many think of his father when they see Rand.
I liked his father he was my Rep for a couple years but the media toasted him.

Rand seems to be flailing about, both treading and taking on water. He may be spending too much time trashing other conservatives, or using negative politics in general.
I recall Jon Huntsman got caught up in the snark as well, using petty sabotage techniques on his fellow GOP candidates. Both seem to be frustrated that they should even have to (repeatedly!) explain to people why they present the best answer to the nation’s problems.

Many say that Jeb Bush’s family is keeping him back. But it seems to me the one who has the toughest family problem is Rand Paul.

The Pauls, in my humble estimation, have reached their maximum aspirational levels as Senators. They can both be a little kooky in their own special ways. They are smart. But I don't think they get any higher than Senator and arguably, are over-officed as they sit. Rands' attacks on Trump (even though I am not especially a Trump supporter or non-supporter) lost him more than a few points in my book. If Trump is such a lout, why do you have to sully yourself with attacks that, when they come back at you, you aren't going to have the snark (not to mention the guts) to counter them? Whatever you want to say about Trump, >>not being able to withstand or effectively counter what comes back at you after you wantonly attack "X" is VERY BAD planning and I note that very carefully and specifically in the case of Rand Paul. Similar to chess, similar to stock trading it is not necessarily the art of seeing what's 'next', it's the art of seeing what's 'next-next' and next-next-next'.

"I feel sorry for the great people of Kentucky who are being used as a back up to Senator Pauls hopeless attempt to become President of the United States weak on the military, Israel, the Vets and many other issues. Senator Paul has no chance of wining the nomination and the people of Kentucky should not allow him the privilege of remaining their Senator," Trump said. Trump further called Paul's operation a "total mess" and said the senator should leave the race.
LOL! this kind of language usually only comes from the left and never from the squishy right. Which might be why the squishy right calls him a liberal.

Paging Daddy Ron Paul!
I’ll wager that his old man will soon come to his rescue.4
Ron Paul has always had the knack to raise campaign funds.

The most believable explanation I’ve seen is that Rand Paul is such a libertarian that he opposes staff discipline, message disicpline, organization, etc. That fits with my personal experience with libertarians. They can be great as individual workers but are almost always lousy managers.

So...which squishy side do you come down on? And who is your preferred candidate a year in advance of the convention?

Both the Pauls should not go past the second item on the agenda. The third thing they comment on is always off the rails.
To: GraceG
Rand Paul definitely missed the flood tide for launch. And he did not help himself in the least by being sharply critical of The Donald. This is not to say that The Donald is beyond criticism (there has not yet been much about SPECIFIC policy positions or definite plans to institute change from The Donald), but to just go out there and bust horns in a vain attempt to gain publicity, or in this instance, notoriety, is futile in the extreme, and destined to backfire big time.
Expect no pity or apology from The Donald. And for sure, not the Vice-President slot.

His going for the smear pretty much shortened his manhood and intestinal fortitude to Lindsey Lou’s dimensions AFAIC. Kinda hovering between “Weasel” and “Stiff” on the John Wayne Man-O-Meter /s ;) Smile when you say that, pilgrim.
