Everyone already flushes the low flow toilets twice.

Not if there's a big log. Sometimes you need a bucket of water nearby to enhance the flow.

It all depends on water pressure.

I had an apartment with a 1.5 gallon head, with very high pressure. No problem. It worked great, saved lots of hot water.

I put the same head in my house that is much lower pressure, no good. Less than a gallon a minute.

So if you have city water under high pressure, it’s actually good and saves you money. But Low pressure, forget it, if you have big head of hair, will drive you nuts trying to rinse it out.

1.2 gallons per minute.

About 2ounces per second.

How about we restrict bathtubs to no more than 10 gallons with mandatory overflow valves?

Anyone with any brains whatsoever know how to hack a shower head to get the flow they want.

Work hard. CA voters have done many things unexpected considering the seemingly 100% liberal control of the state.

Not that a Judge wont turn it over, but work for it anyway.

Yep. I switched out all the innards with new parts. My nearly 30 year-old toilets work like new.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!

I just bought n ew home a few months ago [new construction]. I have had the plumbers here numbers times.

All sinks, showers, faucets, shower heads [made by Kohler] are built to CA specifications.

I am furious at the lack of water pressure.

Not so anymore.

I was used to doing that in CA.. I’ve had plumbers out here lecturing them to remover the washers etc. Now the faucet ;hardware makers make it to CA specifications.

It’s maddening!!!

“Not that a Judge wont turn it over, but work for it anyway.”

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt.

What this state needs more than anything is for illegals to be deported. We have them from every spot on the globe and they have all figured out how to get Americans to pay them to live here. I’m not making that up. We pay for our own destruction.

” The standards will save about 154 billion gallons of water in the next 10 years, the commission estimates...”

Other experts estimate that over the next million years these shower heads will save more water than exists on the planet.

Silly people. Useful idiots. Dangerous progressives. A state with an estimated 840 miles of shoreline on the Pacific Ocean, and short of water? More like short on brains and the will to use them.

Actually, 1.5 gallons is 192 ounces divided by 60 seconds is 3.2 ounces. You were off by an ounce which makes it a real soaker, eh?

Dunno if this will help, but ..."Heads are still manufactured with flow restrictors, but the washers don't always save water. It is an open secret in the plumbing world that consumers often remove them -- a fix that takes less than a minute with a small kitchen knife. Some manufacturers even note on their packages that the flow restrictors can be pried off."

Some folks in San Francisco may be upset with these new head requirements.

Or not...

>> One has to wonder if the residents of California have a breaking point?

Here’s the problem: because of the huge number of pestilent vermin in California, they make for a big market. So, ALL of us will be subjected to THEIR nanny’s rulings — because shower head companies will stop making “non-Kommiefornia” high flow heads.

I know you’re not making it up.
I’ve been to CA many times.

There was an old joke about making sure the last American leaving Miami please bring the flag. It applies more to CA now than it ever did to Miami.

I actually covered that in my next post.

I bought new construction. I’m an LA native and know they put washers in to restrict the flow. My hardware is Kohler, a brand name.

I have gotten plumbers out her and made them take apart the faucets to take out the restricting washers. But new hardware is made to conform to CA standards.

I’ve lived here 65 years. This is a new INFURIATING wrinkle.

BTW, the plumber told me I could remove and replace some of the tub/shower Kohler hardware and replace it. But, not so with the sinks. The sinks are built so that the sink is formed into the countertop.

It’s maddening.

I sold my little Spanish Colonial 1924 house for this!

My wife saw this on tv, and she said we should buy some shower heads and store them.

I told her that my DeWalt drills and tungsten drill bittes would handle the problem.

I just wrapped up an extended "business trip" in San Diego from June 2008 to Sept 2014. The only thing I miss is my daily "Harley time" to/from work and weekends. I have put less than 50 miles on my Harley since Sept 2014. It was a minimum 16 miles round trip to work and 50 to 100 miles on Sat/Sun. Only rain was an impediment. I took the F150 on bad weather days.

I'm thankful to be back home in Idaho with full time employment. I had no need to commute. My home is my office. I enjoy riding my Harley, but I don't have the same sense of purpose for riding. Everthing I need is within 2 miles. The optional stuff is 50 miles north on an 80 MPH freeway. Just a completely different lifestyle.
