President Barack Obama has a blind spot towards anti-Semitism that is evident in his administrations outreach to Iran, Ruth Wisse, a scholar of Yiddish and comparative literature, wrote in an op-ed (Google link) published Friday in The Wall Street Journal.
Yet when it comes to the worlds most widespread and ideologically driven racism, President Obama seems to have a blind spot, initiating a nuclear deal with the fanatical anti-Jewish regime in Tehran, despite what he calls Irans bad behavior. The euphemism this time is his, not that of the perpetrators, and it camouflages their intentions even if they wont.
Perhaps Mr. Obama is oblivious to what the scholar Robert Wistrich (who died in May) called the longest hatred because it has been so much a part of his world as he moved through life. Muslim Indonesia, where he lived from age 6 to 10, trails only Pakistan and Iran in its hostility to Jews. An animus against Jews and Israel was a hallmark of the Rev. Jeremiah Wrights church in Chicago that Mr. Obama attended for two decades. And before he ran for office, Mr. Obama carried the standard of the international left that invented the stigma of Zionism-as-imperialism. As a presidential candidate, Mr. Obama felt obliged to repudiate his pastor (who had famously cursed America from the pulpit), and muted his far-left credentials. Mr. Obama was voted into office by an electorate enamored of the idea that he would oppose all forms of racism. He has not met that expectation.
Wisse described the deal not as a sin of omission that others in the past have made in regard to protecting Jews, but as a sin of commission, which she described as the first time the U.S. will have deliberately entered into a pact with a country committed to annihilating another peoplea pact that doesnt even require formal repudiation of the countrys genocidal aims.
According to Wisse, the deal is not only a betrayal of Jews, but a betrayal of American values.
What of American Jews in all this? It is sometimes mistakenly assumed that those who are passionately for Israel are therefore less for America. It is just the opposite: Anti-Jewish aggression is always aimed at the self-accountable way of life that the Jews represent. Death to the Jews! is a call to arms against Western liberal democracies; that is why in Iran the cry is often accompanied by Death to America!
It was reported over the weekend that Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei published a book calling for the destruction of Israel. The book fleshed out Khameneis tweet from last year spelling out a nine point plan for destroying Israel.

I think it goes beyond a "blind spot". And as the article correctly notes, it's a violation of the Genocide Treaty, ratified during the Reagan years, which will provide the next President with substantial remedies under US Law.
Obama views the world through the prism of racism and oppression. His sympathies are with the Palestinians and he can be accurately defined as an anti Zionist. Yet his policies are not occurring in a political or social vacuum. Changing demographics, a woeful ignorance of history in general and the Holocaust in particular has markedly diminished the support Israel once enjoyed in the West. There is more support fot the Palestinian cause than the Israeli position within the ranks of the Democratic Party. Little doubt that Obama will rally sufficient Democratic support in Congress to prevent an override his veto of legislation to reject the Iran deal.

The Only Jew that Obama really likes is the communist self-hating self-loathing lapsed JINOs, better known as Jon Stewart (aka Jon Leibowitz).
Blind “spot”?
This guy has a half a degree of clear vision in a 360 degree landscape when it comes to antisemitism.
It’s just his “muslim faith”.
Both funny & sad how people are just waking up to this now. The signs were all there in 2008, but most Jews just ignored them. It might not have made a difference, but I think it would have.
Fixed it.
Congress refuses to understand or believe this, but all of his actions are explained ONLY by his position explained above.
It is amazing how Jewish people would vote themselves into the gas chambers.
Blind spot? Blind spot? Au contraire. This was all predictable, given his rearing and the team that maneuvered him into the spotlight and the “inspiration of him and Michelli, that hateful anti-Semitic race-bating character who was the opposite of a Reverant Right. Their views are his views. He was fully brainwashed into Communism and hatred of Whitey from his developmental years. This Manchurian Candidate had vitually nothing to distinguish himself except his complexion and his pathological biases and hatreds and the aim to take over U.S. power.

Moral glaucoma.
It was, against against Jews and Israel, but also the USA, with an emphasis on white America. If the President missed it, it wasn’t cause he was napping, it was his belief system.
THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT — Is anyone out there awake?!
From Dreams From My Father: “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”
From Dreams From My Father: “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”
From Dreams From My Father: “There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe, and white.”
From Dreams From My Father: “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”
From Dreams From My Father: “I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”
And FINALLY...........and most scary:
From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
