Authorities study plane debris found off Madagascar for links to missing MH370

France's air crash investigation agency is studying a piece of plane debris found on Reunion Island off the east coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean for possible links to missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, a spokesman said on Wednesday.

A person familiar with the matter told Reuters the part was almost certainly from a Boeing 777 but that it had not yet been established if it came from MH370.

A U.S. official said air safety investigators had a "high degree of confidence" the debris was from the same model as MH370, the Associated Press reported.

No trace has been found of MH370, which disappeared in March last year carrying 239 passengers and crew while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, in one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history. Most of the passengers were Chinese.

Search efforts led by Australia have focused on a broad expanse of the southern Indian Ocean off Australia.

"In the event that the wreckage is identified as being from MH370 on La Reunion Island, it would be consistent with other analysis and modeling that the resting place of the aircraft is in the southern Indian Ocean," Australian Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss said in a statement.

To many, the discovery of the MH370, it's passengers and crew intact having reappeared via any of the numerous science fiction methodologies we're all familiar with wouldn't make the slightest difference to them. MH370? You're not over that yet? Well, it's just not in Twitter's hottest stories. But to the loved ones it makes every difference in the world. While, probably another one of those dead end stories the families won't ever give up. I personally don't think MH370 will EVER be found.

My guess is that it crashed fairly close to where the part was found.

Nothing about it makes much sense tho. Even if it was a Muslim suicide, it seems like he would just have crashed it immediately after losing contact.

Was Don Lemon available for comment about the possible black hole? Maybe he was fantasizing that day.

Maybe we should have asked Brian Williams,
he probably survived the crash and swam to
safety but being modest he didn’t want to
talk about it.

If they’re almost certain the parts were from a 777, but aren’t sure they’re from MH370, then how many other 777s have gone down in the area?

I wonder if Gen. Tom McEnearny is still going on Fox News to claim that reliable sources told him the plane was secretly taken by AQ sympathizers to Bangladesh?

See you posted a pic of Major Amelia Earhart, United States Army Air Corps Reserve officer. There is a photo of her being sworn-in in the book Lost Star.

Lt. Commander Fred Noonan, USNR-—— former Inspector of Airports and Chief Navigator for Pan Am————the supposed “drunk navigator”-—— along with their plane with the two Fairchild aerial survey cameras have been gone a long time now.

The shredded bits look a little like carbon fiber.

If the piece drifted at a rate of one statute mile an hour then it could have travelled twelve thousand miles in it’s journey.

I said from the beginning that I believed that they hijacked the plane, intended to use it as a missile to attack the U.S. Air Base on Diego Garcia which has B-52’s. With this facility damaged it would be unlikely that Obastard would have rebuilt it, but more likely abandon it.

Diego Garcia allows the US to project power into that hemisphere.

Based on the currents in the Indian Ocean, and the time frame... this looks lends more support to my hypothesis.

MH370 search discovers a shipwreck not the missing plane [05/13/2015]
THE $90 million search for MH370 has discovered “man made objects” almost four kilometres under the surface of the southern Indian Ocean, but they are not the missing Boeing 777. Instead the debris is thought to be from an ancient shipwreck, comprising an anchor and other items. Australian Transport Safety Bureau Operational Search Director Peter Foley said they were “obviously disappointed” the discovery was not the missing aircraft.
