Wait … what? This actually came from a partial defense Hillary Clinton tried to provide for Planned Parenthood yesterday, but it comes across as something else entirely. In an interview with the New Hampshire Union Leader, Hillary acknowledged that she has seen some of the images from the undercover videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress, and calls them disturbing. But Congress shouldn’t single out Planned Parenthood, Hillary argues — they should investigate all abortion providers for potential tissue sales.
You’re on:
Calling them disturbing, Hillary Clinton said undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of aborted fetal tissue raise questions about the process nationwide.
I have seen pictures from them and obviously find them disturbing, the Democratic presidential hopeful said during a sit-down interview Tuesday with the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Planned Parenthood is answering questions and will continue to answer questions. I think there are two points to make, Clinton said. One, Planned Parenthood for more than a century has done a lot of really good work for women: cancer screenings, family planning, all kinds of health services. And this raises not questions about Planned Parenthood so much as it raises questions about the whole process, that is, not just involving Planned Parenthood, but many institutions in our country.
And if theres going to be any kind of congressional inquiry, it should look at everything and not just one (organization), she said.
Cecile Richards, call the red emergency phone stat. The SKDKnickerbocker team must be panicking at this statement. How long will it take for them to pressure Hillary into a walkback statement? If it comes before this post goes live, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Congress could broaden its investigation, but its authority for action is limited to defunding for the various providers. The potential violations of federal law would be investigated by law enforcement, presumably the FBI, although Congress could hold hearings on it. If other providers involved in these kinds of organ harvesting and cash trade markets get federal funding, then Congress should definitely probe them as well. But first we should cut off their funding — and that’s what Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) has pushed the Senate into doing next week:
A working group of Republican senators has reached a deal on the details of a bill to stop funding Planned Parenthood that will get a vote before the August recess.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell began the procedural gears to bring that bill directly to the floor just before the Senate adjourned Wednesday.
The horrendous videos of senior executives from Planned Parenthood discussing in callous tones and shocking detail their role in a national scandal requires a congressional response. Our constituents demand it; the unborn deserve it, the Kentucky Republican said in a statement. This legislation would ensure taxpayer dollars for womens health are actually spent on womens health not a scandal-plagued political lobbying giant.
Ernst introduced the bill last night. I don’t doubt that she would agree with Hillary that Planned Parenthood should get all of the attention, but one has to start somewhere.
The old “Them Too”, “Them Too” defense.
Not to worry...IF she’s elected, THEN she’ll tell you what she thinks..
She just wants to make the whole thing too big to be investigated at all. A usual ‘rat ploy.
I hope all these liberal groups realize now that she will throw any and all of them under the bus if it seals the deal for herself as President.
Yes, it’s diffusion. Probably planted from the PR firm to Hillary.
The Clintons are creatures of polling. I have no doubt that PP’s numbers are radioactive at the moment.
Looks like this is the HRC version of “triangulation”.
You Lie Ms. Clinton..........you have no soul.
This is like the 50,000 page document-dump the day before Congress adjourns for Christmas. Including every abortion provider in Hillary’s investigation would make it drag on for years, and then nothing would be found that was actionable. Been there, done that with these weasels and their political enablers.
You’ll know she’s really frightened when she goes Operation Wetback ;)
Meanwhile GOP leaders are defending tax funds for PP.
Wow.
The Stupid Party rides again when they make Hillary sound almost slightly normal.
This is what abortion is, thousands of times a day, Live with it ghoul!
The polls must be horrific for her to say this..
But by saying lets investigate all? Diversion from PP.
Oh, really, Hillary - they will? I wonder how she knows that - she can either see into the future - or she's working with PP on their media campaign.
Good idea, actually.
I wonder what the hidden agenda is here.
