When Donald Trump soared to the top of national polls earlier this month, Republicans had one hope — at least he wasn't yet leading in any early states!

He is now. The past two polls of the New Hampshire GOP primary have both shown Trump in first place, and not by small margins. NBC/Marist shows him leading Jeb Bush by 7 points, and Monmouth University shows him up by 12.

If Trump knocks out Bush he will have done a great service to the country.

Sadly we begin the Republican nomination trek in blue states.

There should be a policy that the first 10 primary / caucus states must have voted for the party in the last POTUS election.

So we’re back to New Hampshire being a meaningful primary?

Just checking....

The Kasich thing?

There seem to be less than 25% establishment Republicans who still don't hate the party. The number Kasich has is just about what the Jebster and Walker have lost and those three numbers added together stay around 25. The other total sellout, Rubio, is also fading fast.

JMHO

Trump is not in the NH debate. Now let’s see how JEB does in an empty hall.

That NH debate? I’d wager that it’s a hall full of the sellout party regulars, who give us the likes of Kelly Ayotte. Trump’s right to not even bother with them.

Because there are very few conservatives left in America. Every conservative I know supports Ted, but we are a small minority in the bigger picture.

Scott walker was ignored by the media until he dropped in the polls. He will be lucky to be included in the debates. Kasich is a common Core lover. In Ohio the kids HATE it. American History begins with the Vietnam war . Nothing is og significant in today’s America. Math class is nothing but drawing boxes and explain how you got your answer. That is most important

I can’t figure out why Cruz isn’t showing better.

Me neither, and it bothers me. Politically, Cruz could be Ronnie's son.

Cruz appeals to constitutional conservatives but lacks name recognition to the rank and file.

Remember the guy is only 44 yrs old and taking his first lap around the track and has already shown prowess in fundraising.

As one of the three or four best funded in the race, he may hang in a long time.

Intentionally or unintentionally, DT is taking the press heat in place of TC at this time. Not to worry.

Most voters are "squishy on several major issues"....

He is also probably better known than Cruz...

If you reflect on the way Cruz as been covered by the little coverage he has gotten from the media, he's never been shown in a positive light...

The media would like nothing better than Kasich to move up in the polls, he's controllable, Cruz is not...

He’s by far the smartest guy in the room and is a legal/Constitutional scholar. He waxes eloquently from the Senate floor and perhaps is not bested in debating skills. However, he does not have the name recognition and bombastic outspoken skills that Trump has. Trump is a reality show right before our eyes for better or for worse, but he has rapidly brought the fight to the forefront and gives no quarter. As conservative as Cruz? No. As eloquent? No. However, he is large and in charge and can take the fight on important pressing issues to the forefront and give the media and GOPe candidates crap right back at them. He speaks in a way most people can understand. It is refreshing and entertaining at the same time and he is beholden to no one. Will it last? Who knows, but it is very effective and right now it is what people want to hear. Just my two cents...

He's got the fiscal conservative policy wonk governor from a key swing state thing going for him. He takes enough votes out of John Ellis's hide that I wouldn't worry about him.

Do note that 1/3 are NOT supporting any of the top 7 candidates. Also note that Huck is MIA in NH, which leads an opening for the second or third place finisher to score in SC or on Super Tuesday.
