Hey Seattle! How’s that $15 an Hour Minimum Wage Law Working Out For Ya?
pjmedia.com ^ | 7/25/2015 | Rick Moran

The first phase in of Seattle’s $15 an hour minimum wage has been in effect for a little more than 3 months and there are already signs of trouble.

The wage, to be phased in over several years, is needed, say proponents, because so many workers who have full time jobs are on public assistance.

Many companies raised their employee’s wages beyond the $11 an hour mandated by the law, which has led to some curious results. Employees are begging their bosses to cut their hours so they can keep their food stamps, housing assistance, and other welfare benefits.

Yes, really.

We raised your wages so you can work less.

Is this a great country or what?

I am an RN with 30 years experience. The rate of my salary increases has not kept up with the rate of minimum wage increases. The gap between my salary and the minimum wage is getting smaller and smaller.

Now that’s just not FAIR. LOL! Get a clue clowns. Life AIN’T fair. Never has been but the controllers are working on it for everybody to have their “fair” share. Well, except the controllers themselves. For them to make sure “we” all get our fair share, they “need” to live on a much higher plain.

Marxism, Communism or Socialism works perfectly if you don’t have to pay for it or its not an event occurring in the real world or in real time. Those people are morons who choose to ignore the lessons of history and attempt to avoid simple logic ‘cause it doesn’t feel good. God Save the Republic.

The next demand will be to raise the maximum earnings “allowed” for eligibility for welfare programs.
Then the unions will want more. Then municipal workers. Then taxes. Then 15 will be like 10 is today, and they’ll demand 20....

It’s a hell of a note when an employee whose rate has been raised beyond that economically feasible begging you to reduce his hours so he won’t lose food stamps, and all the other low-wage entitlements that bring up their standard of living - likely better than the store’s manager who doesn’t qualify for any of it.

The only cosmic justice will be when the Zombie Apocalypse comes - a “do you want fries with that?” work history is not gonna help one bit.

You would be hard-pressed to find a stronger supporter of free-market capitalism than your writer. History proves that it is the system that has provided more wealth, freedom and well-being to more humans for longer than any system before it. It’s helpful to be clear that the classic definition of “capital” is the means of production, the ownership of same and the activities surrounding that production.

I have never forgotten what Dr. James Dobson of Focus on The Family once told me during a radio interview: “Without an underlying FAITH system (in his and my case and most of the West, that would be Christianity or Judeo-Christianity), capitalism is just a HUNTING LICENSE”.

As I’m sure you know, who or what OWNS the capital is critical. If you think about it, you’ll see that socialism or it’s evil big brother, communism, is a form of capitalism in which, in varying degrees, the STATE owns and controls the capital. Communism is simply MONOPOLISTIC capitalism.

Someone once asked David Rockefeller why he and others with great wealth (produced under the free market system they clearly seek to deny others) had formed multiple allegedly “humanitarian” organizations, the sub rosa goals of which seek to bring about a socialist or communist system here. His response? “If YOU’RE the state, it’s a pretty good deal”.

Which brings us to OLIGARCHY, the system in which a small group of wealthy and powerful individuals run the state. The citizens have little or no input.

And that’s just about where America is now.

For true free-market capitalism to function as envisioned by Adam Smith, Hayek, Mises and others, those who, by their hard work and enterprise, find themselves in control of the capital (again, the means of production), are cautioned by classical economists to do so based on ENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST! For the system to produce benefits for all parties, it is in the capitalist’s interest to play by the generally accepted rules, honor contracts* and treat those with whom he has dealings with respect and not abuse the blessings our unique system allow them to experience. (* The Constitution is the most important man drawn contract in America.)

Let me cut to the chase.

America today is at a very dangerous place. Too many of our capitalists, politicians and others in positions of power are more concerned about JUST their bottom line or maintaining and increasing their power over those around them and are on the verge of destroying the very system that brought them and so many others liberty and prosperity. Too many of them are operating on the basis of UNENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST. They remind me of some of the numerous viruses that infect other organisms only to kill it at which time, stupid, unthinking, UNENLIGHTENED CREATURE THAT IT IS, IT ALSO PERISHES!

If OUR capitalists and poliicians persist in this increasingly unenlightened behavior, some of us who understand what that has ALWAYS brought upon us will find ourselves uttering the final lines in the final scene of the classic film at the link below. Not one of my favorites but nonetheless prophetic.

My great fear is that that day will come sooner than later. MUCH sooner!

Soon it will be zero.

The ultimate goal is two classes, a minimum wage pool of serfs supporting a small hyper rich elite.

Minimum wage will probably be something like $100.00/hr. Fewer than 10% of the salarymen and wage slaves will make as much as $110/hr.

$100/hr sounds good, except a “Happy Meal” will cost $75...

So the argument was...
Paying a “living wage” will benefit us all be reducing the number of people needing government assistance. Seems no one asked the people on assistance if they’d actually be willing to give up their govt bene’s...

Why would others have to follow a law in Seattle? Ignorant liberals a$$holes who do nothing but bitch and complain. let them fail and refuse to allow the Federal Gov’t to assist. That will fix the problem.
