The Donald Trump revolution
thehill.com ^ | Bernie Quigley

Posted on 07/22/2015 9:40:34 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

I'm not sure if anyone has put it together yet, but if Donald Trump does not go quietly into the good night within the month or so, then we will have reached a turning. You can feel it already with the rise of Marine Le Pen and the hard-right National Front in France. And in our times, as goes France, so goes everyone as we have unfortunately connected ourselves here, there and everywhere in foolhardy cultural globalization so if one goes, everything goes.

In France's election last year, Le Pen claimed that the National Front would rise to be France's "No. 1 party." Then on election night, the National Front did better than even it had expected, polling a historic 25 percent in the European elections, The Guardian reported.

*snip*

Commentators suggest that Trump, on his record, makes no sense as a candidate for president. But when did revolution ever make sense? When did John Brown, John Lennon or Palin ever have to make sense to be effective?

If Trump is still riding high in the Republican polling say in a month or so from now, the Republicans can consider themselves to be all but finished. And Trump will be the avatar of a yet-defined new movement. A metamorphosis will have occurred. We will have entered a new phase of our American condition from which there will be no turning back.

FN in France and Trump in the US represent revolts, not revolutions.

Since the French Revolution, revolutions have just replaced the bastard in power with an even worse bastard.

Revolts undermine the idea of authority and raise the possibility that the country is ungovernable.

Sign me up. If Trump’s only quality is faithful opposition to the democrat/republican political class elitism, then he is by far the best qualified candidate running.

I love Trump's music at the end of his speeches:

"We're not gonna take it ... ANYMORE ...."

This article is incredibly stupid. It would be a revolution - the right in this country accepting a liberal as their leader and turning their back on conservativism

Now the left knows how easy it is to fool the right, they can have anyone say a few things to "stand up to the media," and they will vote for anyone, no matter how against their agenda he is.

Trump will save the Republican party. He will help the nation economically, boosting Republican support. And he will give the party a more conservative direction that the other conservatives have not been able to effect.

I can’t think of anything voting ‘Conservative’ has gotten us in the last 30 years ... I’m ready to settle for ‘half-a-loaf’ with Trump ...

Funny thing about all of these oh so smart people re: Trump is...the only contemporary empirical evidence available for the similar political situation is the Reagan revolution. What is even more funny, to me, is that all of the political totems that Trump’s opponents spout about are similar to this so-called “analysis”. I am a research writer and have to source everything I write about, meaning anyone can believe anything, but when you have to cite evidence as to your assertion it changes. Trump has called out all the do-nothings in DC as being incompetent and having failed policies which are real and can be analysed...the writer of this spew has not cited any examples upon which he makes his assertions for a reason.

One reason for Trump’s popularity is that Americans, particularly but not exclusively conservatives, have given up on the Washington political class. We’ve figured out that they have all been bought off by the elite corporate chamber of commerce ruling class and none can be trusted. They talk a good game but have a feet of clay - we’re tired of being lied to. Trump may turn out to be the same but at this point what have we got to lose, many are willing togive him a shot.

When did John Brown, John Lennon or Palin ever have to make sense to be effective?

This tells you all you need to know about this lefty (posing as a GOPe) rant. John Brown was certifiably insane. John Lennon was a certified stoner. Palin was a certified effective governor.

John Brown was a catalyst for the start of an actual civil war. John Lennon was just another hippie, albeit more musically talented than most. Sarah Palin was the only thing which kept John McCain from suffering a bigger blow-out loss than Bob Dole.

But in the mind of this demented scribe, they are all about the same. A big part of Trump's surging popularity is because he extends a middle finger to self-congratulatory establishment scribes like this.

B.S.

Cruz has been doing that all along, whilst also being:

1. A constitutional conservative on all issues
2. A social conservative.
3. Against Universal Healthcare.

All of which "The Donald" can't state honestly.

Sadly Americans have had enough of the same-old, same-old, and this is why Mr. Trump has gotten popular as of late.

But Cruz would legalize 30 million illegals in our country currently.
